Don't use the inner sleeveTo everyone who thinks the inner sleeve is too small/tight, you don't have to put your leg through it. I never do and they work just fine. It is true that the velcro will tend to wear out. Sometimes I will wrap some tape around them after the velcro starts to slip. Or just order new ones. I wear them on both knees every day, all day long and I usually get about 4 months before I notice the velcro slipping. For the comfort and pain relief these provide I don't mind spending the money when they need replacing. 5They have changed.The knee brace is no longer gives the same level of support. The material seems to have changed to a lighter type that is not nearly as firm and supportive as before (this has happened in just the last month or so) and no longer feels like the "old" one. My opinion is that Ace has decided to economize on the material. Too bad. I really liked the product until now. 1Not for Plus SizeThis was very uncomfortable for my big thigh. My thigh isn't that much fatter than normal, but it was tight and pinching. On top of that, it was loose below the knee. I guess this was made for those with very thin thighs and knees but larger calves? 2Excellent product for knee painThis product is a god sent. I have gone to have an orthopedic Dr and was told I need a knee replacement and have suffered for the last year dealing with the pain while walking. ACE to the rescue! I can now walk almost pain free and I intend to see how well this support performs. If it continues to keep the discomfort to almost no pain at all, forget the knee replacement. It is also very comfortable to wear. I very much recommend this product for people with osteoarthritis 5There is help for weak knees.Very good product. I am 65 years old and my knees have become weak. I bought a second knee support, so that I could have them them on both knees. These supports are conformable enough to wear all day.The added support is noticeable. These are easy to put on and can be adjusted for a good fit.If you have knee injury or weak knees , these are for you. 5Useful ProductPerfect for every day use on my arthritic knee, especially when taking a walk or climbing on the exercycle. I have another Ace bandage I use on less active days that doesn't have the stabilizers and both are very comfortable. I had a prescribed brace from an Ortho Dr. that weighed what felt like 40 libs, supported the knee but made walking very uncomfortable and didn't work at all on the bike, so I was very happy to find these two options. 5Supportive brace at a good price.I never thought that I'd be happy to have skinny knees, but because I do, this fits perfectly. The inner sleeve makes it more comfortable, but also makes it more difficult to get into when your knee won't bend when it's aggravated.I've had one of these for 4-5 years now and the Velcro finally started failing. It was a huge surprise when my new one was exactly like the old one getting replaced. Usually everything is made so cheap now that it is rare to find the same item again.This is an inexpensive brace and there are better braces out there but you will pay quite a bit more for them. This offers sufficient support and quality for the price that you can't go wrong. Especially if you have skinny knees. 5Can be adapted for larger legsThis knee brace works very well to support my bad knee, but I ended up cutting the interior cloth tube away. My calves are a bit large (18") to be slipping this over them all the time. This worked well but for an occasional irritation from the Velcro on the back of the knee. I found that if I fiddle around with it I can adjust the three straps to work better than most other braces, and not abrade the skin. If your calves are slimmer than mine just leave the cloth tube in place and it will keep the Velcro off your skin.UPDATE Nov 2013:I bought another brace (misplaced the first one), I ended up leaving the interior sleeve in place, and it worked out MUCH better. It feels better than the bare brace too. I never should have cut it out of the first one. 5Works well for IT band injuryI'm not a doctor or that well-informed about PT, but I picked one of these up on a whim following a progressively-bad IT band injury from running. While it doesn't seem to help AFTER I've done some injury (e.g. doesn't seem to be associated with faster healing or increased comfort post injury), it does help immensely to prevent the injury. My specific type of pain was the kind where you feel it most going down stairs, so if you feel pain when going down stairs, this is the brace for you! I've bought 3 more and wash them all frequently and the elastic has started to wear but generally they're all still fully functional after 3 years of regular use. 5Relieves painUp date: After finally wearing this brace out I tried another, sportier looking brace and ended up regretting it. The other brace did not have a sleeve to hold it to the leg while applying the straps so was more difficult to put on. Once on it felt much bulkier than the ACE as well. I then wore an older, two strap ACE that I had but it didn't mitigate the pain in my knee like this Dual Side does, so I bought this one at Walmart and couldn't be happier, again. For me this is the very best brace for what is apparently an arthritic knee. I walked with it today and felt virtually no pain in my knee.Original review: Been using this type of brace for many years. Really relieves the dull chronic ache in my knee. 5
