Don't knock it until you try it!!I saw my wife using a neti pot for years and could not understand why. I noticed she seemed to get less colds than I, but thought she just had a better resistance. When she finally convinced me to give this Neti Pot a try, I was surprised how many fewer colds and sinus infections I have been getting.. I am now a believer! Great product and good price.. It can't hurt so give it a try, you too might be surprised!! 5Handle is fantastic, great designThis is the fourth or fifth neti pot we've owned. So far, every one we have gotten has been ceramic. Every one has been dropped by my wet fingers and broken. Boo.None of the other ones had handles, and the night I broke our last one, I came to Amazon to read reviews and buy a plastic one to conquer my butterfingers syndrome. Instead, I saw this one and went for it.Granted - I know the day will come when my clutziness prevails and I drop this one, but if I do today it will be because I am still getting used to holding this by the handle with a good grip and holding it by the sides of its body with my fingertips, as I had to with my others over the years. (User-error, not design flaw.)Further, this one holds a lot of water, and you can easily pour your salt in, fill it up with water, stir your salt to dissolve it, and pick it up to use without the water dribbling either out over the back or out of the spout before you are ready! I've never had a neti pot designed so well for water use! The balance of it is great, and even though it is not as pretty of a design as my previous pottery-made pots, it is kind of as great of a design for a neti pot as I can imagine. If I were buying one for a friend, this is definitely the one I would get them. 5works pretty wellOverall, this works well and is an improvement over the plastic neti pot it replaced. I like that it's ceramic and has a lip to prevent spillage as you're doing the nasal lavage. Due to the design, it's a little difficult to swirl the water (to dissolve the salt) without it coming out the spout, so I start with about an ounce, tip it back and swirl rather vigorously, then add the rest of the water and swirl gently. I still lose a little water, but not too much. My other minor complaint is that the interior nooks and crannies make it difficult to air-dry the pot thoroughly. I turn it upside down and rest it at an angle with the spout end slightly elevated. 4Great quality and I paid a great priceI use this to pour salty water into my nose and it does that very well. Great quality and I paid a great price, satisfied with the purchase.As for the usefulness of these things, I have other opinions. I've had underwhelming results using mine over the years despite many people vouching for the affects that these supposedly achieve.Opinions aside, if you want one of these things, this one is a good one. 5Now, I'm a beliverOK, so I'm skeptical about some of this holistic healing stuff. Sorry, but I just don't believe that wearing bay leaves under my armpit will get rid of my bunions. But, I also don't want to take antibotics to get rid of the same chronic sinus infections over and over. So I read up on this novelty and decided to try it.It works, it works, it works. There, I've said it. I can't impress on you how much better your sinus's will feel after a bout with this system. Not hard to master the technique - the first time or two will seem odd, but after that you figure how to hold you head so the angle is just right. Then it's just a warm, comfortable sensation in your nose. Quite pleasant, actually. As far as results, most of the villians in your nose are microscopic or at least, tiny; so, most times you won't see a science project in the sink after a treatment. But rest assured that it washes the pollen and other irritants out with the water drainage, then they won't cause you any problems later. I haven't used it while having a cold or an active sinus infection yet, but I anticipate it will help and soothe that problem.Just try it. It really is beneficial because it works. I use sea salt, works fine, but I'm going to try the voodoo salt concoctions that these guys sell to see if it's any better. 5Love it!Works great! I had purchased a plastic NeilMed NasaFlo previously and ended up taking it back because it leaked all over the place and was poorly made. This one is almost like a piece of ironstone pottery - a lovely simple design that works and is easy to clean. Ever since I read that my seasonal digestive disorders (Fall and Spring) may be caused by allergies, I've been using this a.m. and p.m. along with Loratadine and it has helped greatly! 5I love the design of this potI love the design of this pot. If you're looking at others:1) Buy a ceramic one, not plastic. Unless you want to shell out $$ for distilled water, you have to boil the water. Ceramic makes it easier for you to work with. I boil the water in an electric kettle in my bathroom, fill the pot mostly with preboiled water, the rest with freshly boiled water, and then I have lukewarm water. I don't think you can pour boileingwater directly into the plastic ones.2) I prefer this one over the Himalayan Secrets Ceramic Neti-Pot. That one has a weirdly large spout that will not fit in the average nostril, holds less water than this one, and is flatter on the top (which leads to more spills). 5A Must Have EssentialI have been using this ever since I got it. Gets the job done!I recommend that you first make 32oz of a sea salt water solution at your preferred temperature prior to irrigating so that you don't waste time during the process. I usually do two passes through each nostril (16oz in one, 16oz in the other, hence the 32oz recommendation) and it leaves me feeling less congested. You cannot breathe through your nose when you use it, which is hard to do at first but within a few tries, you will get the hang of it and become a pro mouth breather (not a good thing when you're not using your neti pot).Really gets a lot of congested mucus out especially when you are sick, which helps your recovery. A must have essential for me, and I'm sure for you tooI have never used the plastic neti pots, and don't think I ever will, unless I break this one, God forbid! 5More sanitary than plasticI threw out my plastic nasal wash bottle after I found black stuff growing inside it! This pot will be easy to sanitize. If you drop it, it will definitely break. I like that you don t have to squeeze it so you are not making the flow too strong. I would definitely buy another one. 5Works most of the timeMy sinuses seem to always be clogged. I live in a southern california and the air is not so good here. I use this to clean things out once a week. It takes a couple times to get used to it but the nose feels good afterward. My sinuses tingle just thinking about it. I get the same feeling in my nose as I have after swimming and then clearing my nose. The only problem I have is when I am sick and REALLY stuffed up then nothing will go through my nose so I can't use this.Be sure to add half a teaspoon of salt with the water and mix it together. The wrong combination of salt and water will cause it to burn. If it burns this is likely what you are doing wrong. Be sure to watch the videos online on how to use it.
