After a year of almost daily use, I'm extremely satisfied.I bought this on a whim and at first didn't think it made much a difference to alleviate back pain. Then I stopped wearing it for a couple of days and noticed what a difference it makes. It really does alliviate a lot of the back pain associated with obesity.One thing to consider however is that the edges do tend to bend after a while and can sometimes dig into your flesh but it doesn't bother me all that much since I just adjust it a little bit.It holds up pretty well and is still in good condition after a year of almost daily use. The size chart is also quite accurate, I know that big people sometimes are in a habit of ordering a size bigger since they worry something won't fit so don't worry about that either. I'm actually buying another one because I've lost 50lb recently and the first one I bought I bought a size too large because I was worried about it not fitting, and it's now too large for me. 5Read the blog.This is the easiest, best working (for what it is made)brace I have purchased. The price is right also.The edges start bending up/down after awhile but it's not made to last forever. It's wide around and long up and down which is the reason I tried it to began with. You don't have to mess w/hooks or straps or other stuff that slips and requires affixing or adjusting.Can be taken off an easy, like in a public toilet when you sit, or where you can't get something done. It is very flexible, doesn't stink and easy to wash. Mine hasn't frayed either.I've bought almost everyone out there and I wish I'd looked at this one first. I thought it was too cheap and to easy to put on/off. I was wrong. 4This abdominal band is as close as I have come to finding a 5 STAR abdominal band.FULL DISCLOSURE: I purchased this as a post operative abdominal band. I have a surgical incision that is approximately 12" long that starts 3 inches above my naval and runs down just above my pubic region. I have had 3 surgeries in the last 3 years. First was a colon resection and then a hernia repair and small bowel resection. I am no stranger to abdominal bands. I also **do not** wear this band over the top of clothes as pictured. I guess some might wear it as pictured around the house. A stroll in public wearing it as pictured would just be silly.In my honest opinion no one is making a 5 star abdominal band at this time. This band is as close as I have come to finding the perfect post surgical abdominal band.Let me start with the pros:- The fabric on this band does breathe. I have not gotten sweaty wearing this band even in high humidity and hot summer temps. I am not sure how wearing as pictured over the top of clothes would impact how the band would breathe or if you would get sweaty.- The material, sewing, and velcro on the band are of high quality and it appears to be made to last.- The band is fully adjustable to fit a maximum hip/waist measurement of 62" down to as small as you need it to be thanks to the way the velcro anchors to the band. This is not true with all velcro closure abdominal bands.- The band is machine washable and cleans up nice.Here on the slight cons with this abdominal band:- The backing of the band that would come in contact with your skin is *not* soft. If you are using this as a post surgical abdominal band *and* are not wearing clothing between you and the band, you will want to hold off using this band until all sutures and staples have been removed and all incisions are healed up.- I have tried a number of abdominal bands from different manufactures and different widths (both 9" and 12"). They **ALL** curl up and/or roll down defeating the purpose of wearing the band and making it very uncomfortable. Oddly enough, the 9" abdominal bands are more prone to curling up or rolling down. The BraceAbility band does it less that the others I have worn but it still happens.In summary, I give this abdominal band 4 stars. Quality material, strong velcro, and excellent stitching makes for a good abdominal band out of the package. There are 2 improvements that BraceAbility could make that would take this from a 4 star abdominal band to a 5 star abdominal band:1 - Add a soft/plush panel of material on the back side of the band facing the skin to increase comfort.2 - Sew in pockets and add *removable* plastic staves on the sides and back of the band to prevent curling and roll up. 4Perfect amount of support for my abdominal hernia.I have a recurring abdominal hernia that has ruptured 3 times and frankly, I am tired of dealing with it. I recently bought this abdominal brace and I love it! While it is comfortable to wear, it gives me just the right amount of support that I need.I have felt so much better wearing this wrap that I plan on ordering another one so that I can wear one while the other is being washed. 5Cheap elasticGreat binder....As long as you only need it to last less than a month. Within two weeks the elastic had stretched to nearly double what it was when it was new with no Snapback memory. It is now a month later and the abdominal binder is now twice the length it was when I bought it. When I contacted the seller I was told "It's supposed to stretch". Yes it is supposed to stretch... But it's also supposed to snap back to its original size when you take it off. When I first got it it only needed to go around me once. now I need to wrap it around me twice to get it to secure with the same snugness. This is a poor product as far as durability goes.Update: The thing has now stretched to over 5 feet long. Piece of crap. Don't buy! 1***personal phone number SCAMMED*** -- Too short for long torso folks :-(UPDATE: Somehow my personal phone number got sold to a scammer who just called using a local spoofed phone number regarding a "medical brace" offer. This is the ONLY place I have bought or even searched for a medical brace!! I have downsized the stars in my review to reflect this situation!!***************I bought this because I have some nerve thing happening in the upper left quadrant of my abdomen. It feels better when I apply pressure. The size was accurate, I ordered a 2XL. Trouble is it smooshed all my fat out the bottom!! If there had been one more row of elastic for us long-torso people then that wouldn't have happened. Also, for me this didn't work well because the velcro part stopped RIGHT above the area I was trying to protect. It didn't like the extra pressure. Another thing that will prevent me from being able to wear this all day long is that I can't shoot my insulin through it because it is too thick. I ended up wearing it one day to test and lucky for me that roll of fat that smooshed out the bottom worked for my insulin!! I am going back to my shapewear, it applies even pressure and doesn't smoosh out the fat. I wear it backwards with the underwire part on my back and the back on the front up under my bra. This wrap-around velcro brace might be good for some future ailment, so I won't return it. Just wanted folks to know that it is too short for long torso people. 1Warps, bunches up and loses shapePretty dissapointed. I've only worn this for three work shifts and already it has lost its shape. The part in the back where the tag is, is stretched and warped, as well as the bottom and sides. It does not look like it did when it arrived. It now constantly bunches up in the back. It is also difficult to pull tight and line up evenly even if you lie down. It did not feel supportive at all, more like wearing a too tight tshirt. Also, it created a vertical line under my work shirt where the velcro attatched and was noticable by many people. I spent too much time re wrapping it only to have it slip down, bunch up and roll up when I sat down. On the hopes mine is defective, I am considering exchanging it. But after close inspection it seems its just made of a cheap material that doesn't maintain its original shape. I wouldn't wear it in the summer, its winter here and this "brace" heats you up quickly. Only plus is that it isn't itchy. 1Good pain relieving brace.I've gotten too fat for my own good, hence giving myself backaches. This brace gives me enough relief to permit me to function normally. The brace actually relieves the miserable pain in my lower back and lifts my fat gut into a reasonable position. 5Supportive and yet flexible!This arrived promptly and feels wonderful! Honestly, this product is one of the best Abdominal Supports I have ever tried, and I've had many over the years. (I have scoliosis, uneven hips, one leg longer, and osteoarthritis in both hip joints that will require total hip replacements.) Each band can stretch a little independently from the other, due to a soft stitch between bands. So It has a lovely mix of compression and yet ease of motion. The Velcro seems to hold quite well, and I can easily adjust its location to create whatever level of compression I happen to need. I also love that this product comes in several heights. I have ordered several heights, so I have the option of covering different amounts of my hip and torso on the days I need it to change. I actually think the material and height choices make this a great product for use on other body parts -- its construction does not limit it to just the torso. It would probably also work great on a thigh. I will probably order several more so one is always ready to go. THANKS! I remember how hard it used to be to find abdominal braces. Finding this on Amazon is a joy!! 5Plus Size and C-sectionI bought this so I could bind my belly after my c-section. Holy cow I loved it better than the one they gave me in the hospital. It's really good quality and it does not roll either- I was nervous since it is velcro. I highly recommend if you are plus size and recovering from a c-section. This worked GREAT. I wish I would have know about this with my first baby! 5
