Perfect for red-eye airline flights.Correct sizing is essential if you intend to use this to keep your head from lolling or nodding on red-eye flights. I had an "average" fit one from Walgreens years ago and it helped a lot during prior flights, but my head would still nod or loll (tip over and either wake me up or keep me from an ideal nap). This one fits much better, and I can really snooze much better now, with my head held firnly upright.NOTE: It's not the make or design, it's getting the proper fit. Also keep in mind if you are buying this for sleeping on a flight, you need high and tight, more so than if you will be using it lying flat in bed or walking around - where you want it lower and looser so you have a little more neck mobility. 5Oh yeah. This is the one.Just had cervical surgery a week ago for collapsed disks. When I was discharged I was give a collar to wear to "remind me to turn my head with my shoulders" Makes sense. However, the collar that they gave me was too narrow, I'm tall 6'3", and I could turn my head quite a way before touching it to remind me. It was not very good, and also was very scratchy material.So I ordered this one. What a huge difference. Not only is it cut high enough that I can't turn at all without touching it; it's extremely comfortable. It isn't confining but its definitely there where I need it. I heartily recommend that anyone in a similar situation immediately get on one of these. It will save you a lot of pain and irritation.BTW, if your neck it bigger than say a 22 It may be too short. Mines is 19 and it's just big enough. 5Snoring ReliefMy husband bought this since he had tried every other over-the-counter product advertised to help alleviate INCREDIBLY LOUD SNORING. A sleep specialist had recommended a bite block, but the kind he recommended was $1500!! This works great. Who would have thought?! It's comfortable, handy, and he has had quite a bit of relief from chronic neck pain that he was getting from using a memory foam pillow. He still snores, but not as badly. He says he's sleeping better, and the rest of the household is too. :) 5Not 2.5" all around!I have a very short neck so I ordered the 2.5" collar. It has a very low dip for the chin, but the rest of it is very tall. There is NO WAY I can wear it and of course I had been looking at several so I got the return policies mixed up & I can't return or exchange it. 1Great collar!I used this collar whilst waiting for neck surgery, for PC work, driving and to sleep in which reduced waking up dizzy and nauseous because I had my neck in a bad position whilst asleep! I am currently having to wear a surgical collar fitted at the hospital following my disk replacement surgery two weeks ago, but was told by the doctor that I can start sleeping is this collar again in another week "can't wait" and will also use it later in my recovery period. I would recommend that you purchase two collars so you have a replacement when one needs cleaning. I have found they are easy to hand wash in a warm water with a mild detergent and then I just hang it in the shower to drip dry. I hope you find my comments helpful! 5Eases the pain of my neck injury, provides excellent support.Have an undiagnosed neck injury, probably a herniated disk, but I bought this to see if it would ease the pain between dr's visits and scans and xrays. It does, and very well. I'm barely in my 40s and shy about wearing the the collar out, so I wear it with an oversized black sweatshirt and a black zip-up hoodie. I like black, and people think it's a turtleneck. It helps me not to feel self-conscious. 5Has helped me greatly.I suffered from a ruptured disk in my neck (C5-C6) eight weeks ago. It was a terrible time. I wore a collar every day, almost 24 hours a day, for the first six weeks. I used this 3.5 inch foam collar as I transitioned from the hard plastic collar to no collar at all during the day and also slept in this collar for a couple of weeks during the transition. I purchased a second 3 inch collar to take showers in so I had some support but it was easier to wash my face and hair with the shorter collar.I rated these four stars only because I had hoped they would be a little firmer. But, the taller collar (3.5inch) still helped hold my head up as it rested on my chin.When I first started going without any collar during the day, I still used this to sleep in to make sure I didn't bend my neck. These collars are inexpensive but really helped me in my recovery during this scary time. I will keep them on hand now to use when on road trips or for the plane. 4this is a good one. Thank heavens they have started making them ...If you need a foam collar for neck support, this is a good one. Thank heavens they have started making them black instead of white which gets so dirty and is not washable. I am a lady with an average sized neck. This fits fine. The 3" refers to the front of the collar under your chin. I see nowhere that tells that. 5A bit on the large side, but very comfortableI needed a soft collar to transition from my hard collar after cervical disc replacement surgery. There are so many available, I was confused what to buy. I didn't want anything too high that would be painfully high on my neck, but that would have good support. This has a notch for your chin, so your chin doesn't get jammed up. I find the width to be quite perfect in my opinion. The circumference is a bit large however. My neck is about 13-inches around and the circumference of this brace is 15-inches, so it's a bit loose. It still feels very supportive though. In fact, when I try to make it tighter, I generally end up loosening it. I've found that I like how loose it is. On days where I've had a lot of activity I can place a small ice pack under the brace and it fits just perfectly! Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. 4Good value and comfortable.I received this collar a couple weeks ago awaiting the ok from my surgeon to wear following my spinal fusion surgery on my neck six weeks ago. Because my incision is on the front of my neck I couldn t wear this collar at first due to too much swelling in my neck post op (it hurt too much) but now that the swelling is less I can wear the collar and it s more comfortable than the larger hard collar I was in for five weeks. My neck circumference is 13 . I m average build; 5ft 6 and 150 lbs. You can tell the difference between the two photos how much my neck was swollen by how the collar was fitting between the day it arrived (sitting on my couch) and about a week later (in the car) as my swelling has gone down.It definitely helps people know not to bump into me or hug me. I ll be wearing it for another three weeks at least. Now I need to find some cool pins to wear on the front of it! 5
