My Favorite Morning Brew I bought three...100%Kona, 100% Blue Mountain and this Kenya AA. I don t like superstrong dark coffee and this coffee is flavorful but not overpowering. It s my favorite of the three and it was the cheapest! Really love it! 5Do It! Absolutely amazing coffee! I was a little skeptical on the actual value of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee given the price, but after trying this I am completely converted. Not only is the coffee delicious, but I was very pleased with the roast of the beans as well. Often I find the mass-produced stuff to be over-roasted, which severely dulls the single-origin flavor characteristics, but this is a nice city to full-city roast that works very nicely; allowing the beans to really shine, not the roast. 5so I know a good cup of coffee without all the fancy terminology I recently made a cup of coffee and the smell of the beans was enough to have me committed. I've been drinking coffee for my entire life (like literally a child), so I know a good cup of coffee without all the fancy terminology. (Which I learned just so I could figure out if this was the right coffee for me).If you're a hard-on about that, apparently I like my coffee with mid to high acidity, medium roast, medium to light body, and I like accents of anything sweet or nutty or "earth tasting". This was definitely some of the best coffee I have had in a while (my favorite so far was the coffee I had when visiting Cuba). Saving up to try their Jamican beans as well. 5I do love a good cup of flavorful coffee in the morning ... I can't own up to being a coffee snob. That said, I do love a good cup of flavorful coffee in the morning and throughout the day. This is not a strong blend, but medium as I like to drink. Will definetely buy more of this. Best I've found so far. 5Superb Coffee! Wow! As good as, or better than Stumptown... Wow...I am highly impressed with this coffee...and will definitely be ordering more....I usually drink Stumptown...not any more! re-ordered 6 more lbs...(Guatemala Huehuetenango)UPDATE: I've also experienced Volcanica's Kenya Peaberry...Oh Lord. WOW! This variety has a viscous mouth-feel...fun to drink, syrupy & elephantine with a gorgeous, frothy bloom at first press. I can see myself drinking this in my African bungalow while off in the distance, Denys Finch-Hatton is landing his plane...this coffee avails one to dream & ponder. Another superb varietal from this roaster....that knocks Stumptown & Cartel way down my ladder.UPDATE UPDATE: I just ordered another 16 lbs....one could assume I love Volcanica. I like investing in great coffee... 5Great Sumatran Coffee I am a fella who use to just buy what was on sale at my local supermarket, not anymore... I am not a master of the coffee bean but I have been testing various coffees within the passed year, last three bags have been coffee from Sumatra and Java.. All the coffees I have tried so far have been very good to my taste buds, some took some getting use to, and trial and error from a percolator to now a french press.. I am still experimenting for that perfect cup and although this coffee seems different from the other Sumatran coffees I have tried, the beans are lighter in color and the beans are less oily.. The taste is excellent although a bit different..I will try different amounts and water temperature. (water temps make a huge difference)Only problem I can see is I didn't see a bigger bag, not a big deal tho.I will keep this on my list as a great coffee..FYI a burr grinder is a must. 5Great example of Kenya AA In general Kenya AA rarely disappoints but like any agricultural product, there are quality variations between growers. Take California Cabernet Sauvignon, they are not all equal. This is one of the best Kenya AA coffees I've had. It is very rich for a medium roast but is balanced, not harsh and there is no trace of bitterness. In a blind tasting my wife picked this over our previous Kenya AA. Kenya AA can be had for less money but I would pay this again. 5The best coffee as expected from Blue Mountain As many serious coffee drinkers know, 80% of Blue Mountain coffee goes to Japan. Japanese love coffee. They spend many hours in small cafes enjoying coffee and other delicacies. So, I was introduced to Blue Mountain 30 years ago while I was in Japan. I still remember its smooth taste when I had it in Japan. I got the urge to get Blue Mountain again but I couldn't find it in nearby cafes. So, I ordered it from Amazon but very skeptical since there were many Blue listed from low to high prices. I chose the one with highest review rating - not for price but for taste. I got the package. Nice sweet roasted flavor emerged as I opened the package. I tried with French Press first but I did not get sweet oily taste I remember. Next, I used Cuisinart Grind & Brew (for one cup). It grinds beans to very fine powder and drips very slowly for about 3 minutes. The Blue Mountain taste came alive as I remember and probably even better. I used the same coffee filter (after removing previous coffee grinds) for the second cup. Believe it or not, it made better coffee due to slower dripping, about 4 minutes. It takes trial and error to make a great cup of coffee. I'll grind finer for French press next time. I extend my appreciation to Amazon and Volcanica Coffee to bring great coffee back for me. 5Mouth Numbing Burnt Taste I had high expectations for a twenty dollar pound of coffee. Kenyan coffee is unique in its delicate and complex flavor. Sadly, I tasted none of this with this coffee. Not sure if it was roasted to the point of driving out the flavor or what, but all I got out of this coffee was a mouth numbing burnt taste. As this item is not eligible for return, I plan on using this particular coffee for when I have visitors over I greatly dislike. That way, everyone will be mutually unhappy about the situation. Thanks. 1SUPERIOR SUMATRAN TASTE This is really excellent coffee !! It has the distinctive Sumatran taste and has no bitter aftertaste. A superior coffee, in my opinion, and I will be buying more. If you drink your coffee black, you will love this coffee. 5
