An all around good matcha.There are many types of green tea. Matcha is one type of green tea that's often used for ceremonial purposes. Unlike most tea, where the leaves are used to brew the drink and then removed, matcha is a very fine powder of the tea leaf itself. This produces a rather different texture than most teas. The flavor is also different because of the process used to grow the tea leaves. This matcha has a slight sweet flavor to it along with a bit of astringency. Matcha powder is very strong so a little goes a long way. A whisk is recommended since it can be difficult to fully mix the powder otherwise, and you'll end up wasting a lot.5Perfect GiftI bought this for my dad because he loves that when he visits Japan he can mix his own green tea to his liking. He does complain that it doesn't mix well but he does mention that he needs the special tool for that so that will be his next present. However, in the mean time he still uses it and loves the taste. It's pretty expensive but for the quality of matcha and taste wise I think it's worth it.5I was glad to see thisI have just recently learned about DoMatcha and was eager to give it a try.. I studied up on it some and knew I wanted to get the ceremonial grade product, because I wanted to try it straight as a tea.. I went with the reviews and decided upon this brand.. When I received and open the tin, the powder was in a sealed pouch.. I was glad to see this, because I assumed it would help keep the product more fresh.. I followed the directions and heated my water and then added the smallest amount recommended since it was going to be my first time tasting.. I didn't have the proper bowl and bamboo whisk, so I used a deep cereal bowl and a coated wire whisk to mix and froth the tea.. I had learned that you whisk it in a M or W motion instead of the normal way you would whisk eggs or cream.. It made a very nice froth on the top and then I poured it into a coffee cup.. I did not add any sweeteners or milk.. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste when I took my first sip.. It was extremely smooth and not a hit on bitterness.. I have really enjoyed drinking this straight and can't wait to try it in a latte! I have also learned it is good for using with castor oil under they eyes to help with dark circles!!5Great!I've never been a matcha fan but I have to say, I am greatly enjoying this matcha. It wakes me up without giving me any caffeine jitters. I feel more focused and energized drinking it. Regular green tea simply gave me a caffeine boost. I have only been using a 1/2 teaspoon and that's enough for me.I highly recommend this. Yes more money, but so worth it!5A little disappointing.I like DoMatcha a lot, but not a big fan of the small packets. It s very expensive with very little inside. The flavor is good but I need to put about 3 packets in each 10oz glass I like to drink.3Great for on the go!These matcha green tea packets are super convenient for on the good. I just take a packet or two with me in the morning before heading to work and they taste like yummy green tea. I have yet to try this with hot water since I usually just pour it straight into a water bottle. Make sure you shake it vigorously to avoid any clumps. Just a person who drinks tea for its health benefits. Here is my personal opinion...The taste is excellent as compared to green tea bags. You will notice the true green color of the tea immediately as compared to the "brownish" tea bag version. This is the gold standard where you measure the taste and appearance of green tea. The key to make a smooth texture is mixing it to a small amount of hot water then mixing and pressing the clumps against the cup until it dissolves. Then add more water. I know the traditional way is using bamboo whisk to make a paste but the technique I use is the simplest economical way I know. The DoMatcha is the brand I chose because my concern is that the radiation level from "exposed" area in Japan might get in their agricultural products such as tea. But checking from DoMatcha website, the location of the green tea farms are upwind and very far from the radiation disaster. In addition, the company do radiation level testing.The only disadvantage is the steep price you have to pay for a premium product. Hope it becomes more affordable as the demand increases.5Good Matcha I'll return to now & thenThis is pretty good matcha. I've had worse and I've had better. It's fresh enough and green enough to impart a pleasing matcha experience. I use this with a DoMatcha whisk.I agree with a couple of other reviewers about the annoyance returning & reusing the tiny bag inside the tiny tin. I've since abandoned using the tin, try and slowly squeeze as much air as I can out of the foil pouch after each use and place that inside a mini mason jar with an airtight lid for storage.4One of the best on Amazon but there are better choices for the money available elsewhereVery good matcha but not exactly ceremonial grade (slightly bitter) and overpriced. I compared it with Grace & Green from Japan - their Ceremonial matcha is in a totally different league.I was also annoyed trying to scoop the right amount of powder from that tiny bag inside the tin. I find airtight tins without bags a lot more convenient.4
