Has replaced my morning coffee!I had such a hard time opening the first tin I ordered due to a couple small dents, but the product is fantastic. I make a matcha latte with a combination of warmed soy and almond milk and it has replaced my morning coffee. Somedays I have two. I add several drops of a liquid (vanilla flavored) stevia and foam all with an immersion blender. Heaven! I am going to subscribe to this item, so am hoping the next tin is easier to open!Jan 2017 update: I have ordered three tins since my first order arrived with the hard to open dented tin, and all three have been undamaged and easy to open. Highly recommended for matcha latte drinks,5Smooth & calmingThis was my first try of Matcha tea. I am still getting used to the taste, frankly I feel it tastes like dried meadow grass, but I use it in my latte with a bit of decaf coffee and it mostly gets rid of that taste. I love the fact that it has antioxidants, it's calming for sure, I don't get the headaches I get when I haven't had enough coffee. The color is bright green (although my son said it looked like Shrek farted in my 'coffee' :) ), and it's smooth. We (my husband and I) finished this batch and tried the Kazu 100% Organic Green Tea Matcha which was not as bright green and less "smooth" according to my husband but he'd put up with it because the price difference he thought was not worth it. I thought the taste/scent of Kazu was not as strong but also not as smooth.We have not tried it in any smoothies but I am certain if used in moderation the kids won't be able to tell.4Excellent Quality Organic Japanese MatchaI started drinking matcha after a stay in Yokohama, and have tried several brands and preparations since then. There are many people who know much more about tea than I do, but I can tell you why I like the DoMatcha Second Harvest Matcha. This tea is a (reasonably) affordable matcha that is very high in antioxidants; since I started drinking it for the health benefits that was an important feature for me. The second reason I am a fan of this particular matcha is that it is not as grassy tasting as some; although it does have a slightly astringent aftertaste when made with fairly high concentrations of tea, it is smooth and has a wonderfully creamy consistency. Depending on your preparation technique the tea does tend to fall out of solution quicker than some other teas I have tried, but not annoyingly so. I appreciate the care with which it is packaged (there is a metallic inner bag that's vacuum sealed inside the tin) which ensures freshness to the consumer.Although far from cheap, I like the DoMatcha Second Harvest and keep coming back to it: the combination of taste, health benefits, and obvious care taken during production and packaging make it a good value for the price.5Make sure second harvest (summer) is what you want!It tastes ok but after researching I found out that the second harvest (Summer Harvest) is best used in smoothies; it's quite bitter. Next time I will buy the ceremonial Matcha which is meant to be enjoyed as a stand alone cup of Matcha. Still good, but I use it now in smoothee's or Matcha Latte's until I can buy the Ceremonial or first harvest Matcha.5Delicious and Flavorful!Obsessed with this matcha. I've tried a lot of other ones, and this company is top notch! It has the perfect flavor... doesn't have that grassy taste with poorer quality teas. Initially it was a pain to whisk it (otherwise you get chunks of matcha at the bottom of your cup), but I found that if you put some sugar in the cup and mix the matcha with it really well, no chunks! I will definitely repurchase. One thing to note is that the tea is actually in a bag within the container. Container is super big but the bag is sort of small. This is purchased by weight, so it makes sense, but it was a tad disappointing the first time I ordered tea. I tried the 1st harvest organic and found that I actually like 2nd harvest better (good for me because you almost get triple the product for the price!). I enjoy this tea with a tiny bit of milk and sugar. It makes the perfect green tea latte. :)51st timer and I couldn t Taste any grass flavor at allSo this was my first experience with Matcha as this particular brand was recommended by my favorite blogger Angela Liddon oh she glows and I was shocked at the price at 1st but didn t care because I knew if she recommended it, it was good stuff.So I made it two ways. A hot latte with coconut milk. And iced with almond milk. I much rather preferred the almond milk iced latte with cinnamon and maple syrup-yum!Anyway, I didn t taste any grassy flavor at all. And it seems like a really high end product. And it definitely gave me a steady energy boost! I have always been searching for a way to wean off my morning coffee and this may be the ticket.Cant wait to enjoy my next iced latte with this stuff! I mixed 1 tsp with 1 cup cold almond milk and a splash of maple syrup. Then used an electric beater on high for about 60 seconds and only had a few tiny clumps, nothing to be bothered about. Poured it over ice and Added a dash of cinnamon on top and it was sooooo goood!!5i have bought this matcha for 3 years now, ...i have bought this matcha for 3 years now, i drink this 5-7 days per week and have for 3 years. The price just jumped on Amazon by almost $20. I can no longer afford it, unless i can find it for a reasonable price elsewhere. It's not ceremonial grade matcha; it's organic but it's the 2nd harvest, in the summer and it is a far cry from ceremonial grade.i'll select another brand and will not buy into this huge price increase.1One StarAbsolutely love it but a sudden$16.00 price increase... are you joking? Pass!1Why Matcha over Green Tea? + TIPEverybody knows that green tea is good for you.It's full of antioxidants that have positive effects on your body's immune system.It is also known to have ingredients that help with fat burning and metabolism!While green tea comes in the form of a tea bag, matcha itself is the green tea leaves that have been grounded into a fine powder.So essentially, you are drinking and eating the green tea leaves!This DoMatcha comes in a very small container but the quality and the taste was rich and excellent.BOTTOM LINE:4.5 out of 5 stars because it's a bit pricey but you are paying for the quality.*** TIP ***Never use boiling water for any matcha as it will burn the leaves, leaving (PUN intended) a bitter taste.Once a water starts boiling, turn it off and wait 2 to 3 minutes before pouring to the cup.Matcha will taste so much better this way. Hope this helps!4Matcha tea is smooth non-grassy tastingPreviously purchased Teavana Matcha tea several years ago and wanted to start drinking Matcha tea again. I Googled and DoMatcha had good reviews. I like that it is organic and it doesn't have a grassy taste. Haven't figured out the pricing yet...but I assume that because I am getting an organic product you pay for it. Overall very pleased!5
