I used these knee braces back in 2014 for the ...I used these knee braces back in 2014 for the first time and they provided the support that I needed. However, I purchased these braces a month ago and these are not made to the same standard as the old reaction braces. The velcro started falling off in days and the brace never stayed in place because it is depended on the velcro to hold it together. The rubber started deteriorating rather quickly and I believe the product I got was defective, but I do not trust ordering another pair after reading very similar reviews. At first I purchased despite the reviews because of my previous experience with them, but they are not made to the same caliber as the ones I had in 2014 1It worksI was shocked how this worked so well. I haven't been able to take a step without pain for the past month. I bought a couple of off the shelf braces at Walgreens and they were useless. I received my Donjoy yesterday and started walking immediately without pain....unbelievable. I did the measurements suggested and went with the larger size because I was between sizes and Donjoy said go with the larger size. Wish I had gone smaller because it buckles on my thigh and the straps touch in the back. I was going to send it back but I don't want to go back to limping so I'll keep it if you weeks and maybe order of the smaller Im out 70 bucks but frankly it's worth it. My pain is in the front of the knee below the patella and this really eliminated all walking pain. 4Great Product! TERRIBLE / NON-EXISTENT customer service.The product itself is great, works exactly as advertised! I actually bought one for both knees based on my Dr. recommendation. (It was either a brace or a 4th knee surgery).There are 2 problems: 1 is with the quality of the hinges that have rusted and are starting to break through the plastic. The 2nd problem is REALLY FRUSTRATING. I can't get hold of anyone at the company in order to have it replaced because it has a 6 month warranty. Good luck trying to get in touch with ANYONE at all that can help you. I tried DonJoy which was no help because it was ordered here. Filled from Amazon, and there isn't anyone that you can connect with in order to get this resolved. Terrible customer support! 1Price point is good, quality needs workThis is the 2nd purchase of the same brace. Although the company indicates they have "improved" the Velcro, the same issue exists. One month after the purchase, the Velcro is not holding. I wear the brace 3 times a week about 5 hours at a time for bowling. It's a great design, it is cool which is what I was looking for and most of all it helps with my arthritis pain. It comes with a sleeve for warmth (which I don't need). I tried wearing the sleeve without the brace and discovered it makes my knee hurt since it compresses my knee. The web portion of the brace (at the top) breaks down in about 6 months & will eventually tear - that's why I had to replace the brace. The price point of this brace is good but the quality needs work. 3Works great after learning a few thingsI have now worn my DonJoy Reaction WEB Knee Brace 3 times.What I have learned from using this for practicing and playing softball:1. It slips down when wearing the spandex knee sleeve underneath the knee brace. It came with the sleeve.2. After the brace slides down toward your ankle, do NOT pull up the knee brace up by the web. Day 1, part of the web ripped apart.3. Wearing without the sleeve, the knee brace stays up perfectly for me, even when sweating.4. The support is good, and I think my knee feels a little less pain after playing.5. It's the most comfortable knee brace I have ever worn, since my ACL surgery 20+ years ago. You can almost forget that you are wearing it.6. I would recommend others to try it.7. I think the price is very fair and comes in fun colors. 4so I'm happy. The support it provided was very good tooI'm a big guy. I'm 6ft tall, 270lbs. Where i'm not exactly a poster boy of physical fitness, I'm not fat. I carry most of my "extra" weight around the midsection. I have tree trunks for legs. It was difficult to find a knee brace that would fit. Most that I tried, even in the XL and XXL sizes were too small. The sizing chart for these is accurate. They made a size that fit me which is oddly the XL/XXL size. Not sure why they combined those 2 sizes, but it fit, so I'm happy. The support it provided was very good too. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because if you don't wear the "protective sleeve" it comes with (the first one I received was missing the sleeve), the webbing can rub the skin uncomfortably. Other than that, it was comfortable, (again, I like to wear it with the protective sleeve). worked well and looks cool too! 4I want to stress that the braces are the BEST for sliding kneecaps and other stabilization issuesI have ordered the pink braces in Med/Lg and they fit perfectly. The Velcro wore out in six months so I ordered the less expensive color, gray, in the same size. WRONG! The gray aren't the same size AND the vendor wouldn't accept a return ALTHOUGH it says in the description that returns are allowed. I want to stress that the braces are the BEST for sliding kneecaps and other stabilization issues. But they will only last 6 months with frequent usage. My belief is that DonJoy has contracted with different manufacturing companies, hence the sizing is not consistent. BTW - the less expensive gray brace's quality is poor. In a nutshell, be sure of your sizing, realize that you can't return them, and the Velcro wears out. 4Great if you don't sweat, move, or get hotI've had PFPS for a few months know and after months of icing, therapy, heating, many motrins, and whatever my school therapist had me do he told me about this brace made by DonJoy which he knew as a great company. I purchased two of these for both of my legs and when I first put them on the pain went away. Of course every once in a while I'd feel a little something and as I walked around after awhile they would slide down a little bit, but everything was generally better. My first day going to workout with these on I tried to use the sleeve with the brace, but couldn't even walk out my door without feeling like I was overheating. I removed the sleeve and just wore the brace which made it cooler. After squatting and doing hang cleans I was a bit sweaty and after every set I had to stop and lift them back up which you could imagine got quite annoying. I eventually took them off for the rest of the workout, but while they were on I had no pain. 3Not what I expectedThis brace provides little to no medial/lateral support with hinges that are just a soft silicone. The velcro bands also continue to bunch up at the upper thigh causing the brace to loosen. The only decent use of this brace is for standing, any dynamic movement or bending of my on knee loosens the strap. The sleeve it came with is decent, but other than that I am disappointed in the product and how much I payed for it. 1I researched like crazy for a good knee braceI researched like crazy for a good knee brace. I'd tried everything from the compression ones, to the double jointed things and they were just so bulky and uncomfortable. I was so excited to receive this, but the silicone is soft and just didn't give me any support. I waited too long and lost my chance to return it so I threw an awful lot of money out the window on this one. Unless you can try it on in person or are ready to return if its not for you than I wouldn't recommend purchasing this. A knee brace is just one of those things that you need to try on and feel if its right for you. 1
