The extra wide is a nice feature, you don't have to push your feet so close together to be able to stand on it. You can stand on it in a more natural fashion and keep it consistent. 5... the strength of it being Amazon Choice and "highly" recommended. Installed them and tried the scale...said "Lo" indicating low batteries per the instruction guide provided. Okay I thought, cheap batteries may be the culprit. On the way home, stopped by Walgreens and bought Energizer batteries...tried those...same issue. Figured I'd try one more time...bought some Duracell batteries...tried those. Same result, "Lo". Packed that bad boy back up and shipped it back to which it came. Never again EatSmart. This product is complete JUNK! 1HORRIBLE PRODUCT, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICESo I purchased this item on 11/3, the piece that covers the battery compartment started popping off from the first time I used the scale. I sent the company an email on 11/9 and got an automated email stating that someone would get back to me soon. I am writing this review on 11/14 and I am yet to get a response from this company. The item broke less than two days after I received it, but I have already discarded the box that it came in, so I can't just return it. If you are considering buying this item, please do yourself a favour and save your money for a different brand. This company has no regard for their customers. 1Inaccurate.I purchased this scale when I was to begin dieting. Unfortunately it stayed in the box a couple of months before I got serious. For the past two months I had been thinking my efforts have not been very effective, so imagine my surprise when I weighed a full 11 pounds less at my doctor's office than on my scale. I weight again when I came home and got the same result. It's too late to return but it's a shame because I had purchased another EatSmart scale in the past and was very happy with it's accuracy. But I'll be looking elsewhere for my replacement scale. 1Consistent measurements, LCD is difficult to read from a forward looking down perspective ie while standing on the scale.Are there any honest reviews of this product where the recipient didn't receive it for free? Well, here's one. For an inexpensive scale that can measure up to 550lbs, it works okay. The only problem I have with it that my weight, 497lbs, seems to be too much for the LCD screen, stepping on the scale warps the LCD so it appears faded from a natural angle. Also, once the scale beeps, you are supposed to be able to step off it to read the weight, however, it doesn't work that way, the weight disappears as soon as you step off. I have found that if you keep one foot on applying pressure, the weight display will stay longer. Not a bad scale, but it does have a couple design flaws that could have been addressed if it had gone through any sort of quality control with people in line with its capacity. 3Amazing and accurate productI weigh 542 pounds, I never thought I would be able to find a scale that actually works and is on point. It is big enough for my husband's feet and he wears size 13-14 shoes. The fact that you get off and can see still the results and get them written down is very helpful. It seems to be extremely accurate - no more going to the Dr.'s office and getting a reading that's 3 to 5 lbs heavier (I don't think my weight has ever been lighter than I expected)! Then comes the dance as it bounces between calibration mode and being ready for you to step on. You've been fighting battles with the scale your whole life and you're not willing to lose another. Decision time... it's him or you. Another shallow unmarked grave somewhere in the desert. You made the right choice today friend, even if you have no idea how much you weigh. 1Great scale!This is a great scale. Since day 1 it has given the same weight no matter how many times you step on it or move it, or stand in a different place on it. Every other scale i've purchased in the past (and there have been several) has given different numbers when moved 4" to the left, or if I stood right in the middle, then again with my feet closer to the back, or if I just stepped on and off 3 times in a row. This one is legit! It also gives me the same weight that I get at the doctor's office. 5Doesn't work at higher weights.I am very disappointed. I bought this scale because I weighed 412 at the doctor recently and I want to be able to accurately track my progress. With brand new batteries and multiple attempts on different floors, this scale insists that I'm over 550. It does not work accurately at the higher weights. 1
