A little disappointedInstructions were easy enough, I did need an extra set of hands to do it correctly though. This pack comes with 3 different kits, so I did 2 of them to confirm my blood type and my significant other did 1 Just because. We both were the same blood type which I thought was a little odd, but went along with it.A few weeks later I actually have to have my blood drawn, so for curiousity I asked them to test my blood type. It was not the same as the kit suggested.I mean there are a lot of variables, there could be a possibility that I did something wrong, although we followed the directions exactly. Not sure what happened there. Kind of disappointing, but for the price I paid I am not too upset.1If you aren t a nurse don t waiste your moneyBetter bring a razor blade if you plan to get the amount of blood needed to take the test because the tiny prick the device leaves will never let out that much blood. If you are successful at ever getting enough blood out (has to be enough for the whole card before the card starts to dry) then good luck in determining anything other than that you have four circles of blood using the lousy chart included.1Now we know my husband's blood type.This kit worked. We couldn't find any record of my husband's blood type. Rather than calling doctors offices or the Red Cross trying to find record of it I decided to order a kit. I've known my blood type forever just like knowing my DOB and SSN.3 test kits came in the package which made me feel good in case we messed one up. We ended up only using 2 because the procedure was simple enough and the typing results were obvious. We did one on me as a control since I knew my type and the test matched it.Two points need improvement:1) the EldonSticks (4 per kit) are not easy to get a nice drop of blood on like the instructions show. If the results hadn't come out clearly for us I would of blamed the transferral of blood to the card w these sticks as a problem.2) the how to video online (referenced on the paper instructions) was no help with using the EldonSticks nor on rotating the card. Those were my two areas of confusion after reading the written instructions and the video was of NO help. It needs to be updated to cover EACH step of the instructions.In our case "all's well that ends well". It was quick, easy enough, and gave clear results.4I had no idea finding my blood type would be so easy, and funI decided to buy this after realizing that I had no idea what my blood type was. I assumed this whole kit would have long, detailed instructions that would be a bit scary. Instead it was super easy and actually pretty fun. While my son wasn't keen on having his finger pricked, and we didn't do it as we already knew his blood type, my wife and I used it as a teaching element for our 5 yr old son and tested both of our bloods (neither of us knew our blood type).5I carefully read the directions and found that they were easy enough to follow and the results were so clear ...I bought the three pack because other reviewers mentioned that they had difficulty the first time they tried it. I carefully read the directions and found that they were easy enough to follow and the results were so clear that I was able to give away the other two!5Figured I was a O+ casualIt's a good thing I bought the 3 pack. Remember to be gentle when pulling the green stick out of the lancet, it said to twist and gently pull, but it wouldn't come out easy, once it came out I heard a click and was worried that the spring let go. I was nervous to prick myself and tried pushing the lancet against my finger but nothing happened, "Maybe I'm holding back?" I then proceeded to awkwardly jab the lancet into my finger ten more times to no avail. I gave up and opened another one which did work. I squeezed a healthy amount of blood and placed the drops on the corresponding circles. For a moment I thought I was O-, which for me would be genetically impossible, unless mother had some explaining to do. Turns out the blood needed a little extra time to coagulate. I guess whatever Rh factor I have is very small. Maybe I'll donate some blood. Do they give cookies? I'll do it for cookies.4Fun, educational, and accurate!When I realized that my husband didn't know his blood type and neither of us knew our daughter's, I remembered doing a similar test back in Biology class and knew we had to do it at home!The 3 pack arrives as 3 individual tests with everything shown. I highly recommend reading through the directions 2 or 3 times to make sure you understand all of the steps. It is very important that you follow each step in order, and that you make sure the finger you are pricking is warm! A cold digit will not produce well. As a former phlebotomist I knew this was vital. You also have to make sure you hold the test sheet up and down, left and right, as the directions state (though we had to keep them tilted quite a bit more than the directions showed to keep the blood from running out of the circles). My husband forgot this step and we were confused with the results until I realized the mistake, and we were luckily still able to tilt it and get a result.We did my test first since I already knew my type, just in case we made a mistake, and it came out perfectly. I was able to do my own, but I did help my 9 year-old. I did the finger prick and I squeezed her finger for her while she collected the blood and mixed it into the circles. She did a great job and I think hers is a perfect age for something like this. We had no troubles with the lancets at all. Again, making sure your finger is warm (and choosing an area of a finger that is callous-free) is the real key to getting a large enough sample.5Very easy to use. Great productVery easy to use. The results are clear and simple. I m AB+ and my husband is O+. According to the chart our kids could only be A or B. I did this test on a 6 month old and a 3 year old. One child was A+ and the other was B+. I know my blood type from multiple doctors so I believe this test was accurate. You know the results in minutes.5Easy and accurate.Worked for us. I already knew mine but wanted to know hubby s so he could do blood type diet also. Did it on myself first to ensure accuracy and it was correct. Turns out hubs, myself, and our offspring all have the same type! Easy for the diet!I recommend getting organized by opening everything and laying it out before you start. You dont want to be fumbling to open the blood collectors with a bleeding finger... y know? Follow the instructions, get organized before you start, and this is absolutely fool proof!5Great...but be careful on that water drop placement. The instructions could be clearer.Worked great. I bought the 3 pack. It took about 8 mins to do the typing. I knew my type already. I wanted to verify it with these cards before using it on my son. I used filtered tap water for the one drop of water. NOW, had the instructions seemed clearer on this water drop, like maybe with a picture, I would have given this 5 stars. However, CAREFULLY read the instruction. It says to put it in the center. NO. You put the drop of water OUTSIDE the center ring(the reagent ring). Not directly in the center. There's the big ring...and a smaller ring inside. If you put the water drop between the outside ring and the inside ring, you should be good. Almost immediately, I knew my blood type. I just matched up the card with the picture of the instruction booklet. Bam! Done. It takes a while to completely dry. So, keep that in mind. Once you swirl the blood drop with the water...getting all the reagent ring dissolved, you pretty much can see if it coagulates. The finger prick was very anti-climactic. I'm a big baby when it comes to needles, too. I did it on the side of my ring finger...then held my hand down for 10 seconds. Blood came...I squeezed enough out...and then it healed up quickly.4
