Great replacement for $$$ inserts!UPDATE:Went on a 40 min training run and the arch support fell apart. Literally they flattened out to the shoe soles and left my PF foot in pain for five days afterward. I am a light-footed runner, mid-foot strike; not a heavy ground-pounder. You get what you pay for. Will use them for office shoes I guess as they are now out of my running shoes. Demoted from 5 to 3 stars.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I purchased these to replace my well-worn, very expensive inserts that I have used for years as they have been discontinued and the manufacturers replacements are junk...don'tcha hate it when they do that?!So, after seeing these and seeking feedback from runners blogs and magazine reviews as much as those here I decided to order them.My oh my; these are nice! The arch support is very helpful for the somewhat lingering PF issue on one foot, and the deep heal cup cradles the foot so well to prevent heal slide which can be irritating, especially on trails.After less than a month and approximately 30 miles on them I went ahead and ordered another pair to keep from swapping out from road to trail shoes. Highly recommend! 3Way better than my Orthaheel Active Insoles!This product deserves 10 stars! These just arrived today and I cut them to fit my Saucony Excursion TR8 Shoes that originally had my Orthaheel Active insole and have been walking around the house and I cant believe how great these feel on compared to the Orthaheel. Upon opening the package I did notice that these seemed to have a much better arch support with me being flatfooted with over pronation definitely need. I also noticed that they had a much deeper heel bed and they have a softer but firm foam support throughout. (Please see the photos I provided for comparison.. ) I will no longer be spending the almost 3/4th more in cost for the Orthaheel insoles! This product is far superior and at a great price! Well Done Envelop!! 5Good for Some, but Not for MeI cannot wear these. Although they have a nice shape and arch and they seem well constructed, they have only a tiny bit of cushioning under the heel. Since, my foot pain comes from thinning foot pads, I must have substantial cushioning. Since I destroyed the package opening it, I cannot return them.I think these would be fine for people who do not require cushioning or if they wear deep orthotic shoes ans place this insert beneath cushioned insoles. (The heel cup would then no longer be a cup .) 1I'm a believerBuy them--seriously. I had plantar fasciitis for 16 months--tried drug store inserts, stretches, and a night brace. Nothing worked and the pain was awful and relentless. I have also started acupunture (have had about 5 treatments so far) for this condition. It is helping reduce the pain, but it does not address the root of the problem. Enter these inserts. I have been using them for a week, and put them in whichever shoes I am wearing. The first few days my foot (only the one with the fasciitis, oddly, not the pain-free one) hurt across the instep through the big toe, but it was more of a 'this is a brand new stretch' kind of discomfort (different from the fasciitis). I felt had to journey through this new discomfort because bad foot positioning is what got me the fasciitis in the first place. These inserts totally correct this. My pain has been SIGNIFICANTLY and mercifully reduced, from about a level 9 (out of 10) whenever I got up to walk to currently around a 2. I expect my foot will continue to adjust and heal in the next week or so--every day it gets a little better! I cannot express how grateful I am for this relatively simple solution to my chronic and formerly extremely painful problem. I am going to buy a few more pairs so I don't have to keep switching them back and forth in various shoes. THEY WORK!!!!! 5Very happy with these!I was born with a leg disability and now in my 50's, I have more pain in my ankle, foot and knee. Now I'm dealing with bunions which is causing more issues with my toes, pain, balance, weakness, numbing. Trying these after reading the reviews, because I went to a specialist for orthotics, and she actually asked me if I was sure my right leg was the leg that was shorter???? The orthotic would have costed $600!! WOW! I was born with this! Pretty sure I know!!! So after a week wearing these, my ankle pain is so much less, my feet are beginning to feel less numb and not so tired after a day on my feet at work! They are very comfortable!I did accidentally order a size bigger but was able to use my old orthotic to measure and easily cut it and it fit perfectly in my shoes! Excited to see if things keep improving for me! 5Therapeutic for PF - but choose carefullyExcellent for plantar fasciitis sufferers, although actual comfort level may depend on individual foot. I like the "full length" fit, because the one-size-fits-most PF supports from Rite Aid (which otherwise work very well for me) leave the toes over some very hard, rough surfaces at the toe when used in some shoes and boots. If you have PF and choosing an insert, no matter from where, here is what my podiatrist says you must know: the heal should be fully supported and soft, but the arch must be relatively hard and inflexible. If you hold the toe end in one hand and the heal in the other, and twist, there should be no bending at the arch. If the insole twists at the arch, that product should NOT be used by people with PF, even if it feels good in you shoe. An arch that is merely cushioned may feel great, but will not help recovery from PF; in fact, it may make things worse. The Envelop product is correctly designed. Unfortunately, distinguishing which of the many products available through Amazon are truly therapeutic (vs. just padding with arch support) and will be comfortable for your particular foot is difficult. If it says for PF, check the heel padding and give it the twist test upon receipt. Return the insole if it fails either. Obviously, you want your insole to be comfortable, but PF sufferers cannot stop there. Good luck! 5and I like these better)Have only worn these for a few days, but the initial experience is very promising. These orthotics have a very high arch and are very firm, which is exactly what I wanted! And they are much less expensive than many of the other orthotics (I have been wearing custom orthotics that cost hundreds, and it appears that these will be a suitable substitute. I have also tried a number of other orthotics costing ca. $40, and I like these better). I plan on buying more of these so that I don't have to keep transferring them from shoe to shoe. I wear a size 8 and bought the medium inserts. I trimmed about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch off and they seem to fit well. You do lose a little precision on the fit when an insert is made for a range of sizes, but it doesn't seem to be an issue. Quality of materials and comfort seems good on these. They have a moderate amount of cushioning. 5Wait For ItI suffer from terrible pain due to plantar fasciitis and was searching for an insole that can help relieve this pain. I was slightly skeptical after reading some of the reviews saying the support was too rigid. I can't believe I almost let those reviews keep me from buying such an amazing product. The initial discomfort of your feet adjusting to a proper arch is nothing compared to the freedom of finally being able spend a whole day on my feet again. It took about two weeks of use for my feet to fully adjust but it almost seemed like a therapeutical process of stretching out your feet. So happy I found a insole that does everything it promises!! 5Just what the doctor orderedThe shape of this particular product is very suitable for the shape of my foot.I can feel the arch support and it feels just about right. I might describe my arch as moderate but I don't know how an expert would rate it.. I don't know how to be any more specific than that as far as fit goes.Otherwise the insoles are fairly stiff while still providing a good degree of cushioning. The stiffness means the insoles are not apt to shift or fold up on themselves when the shoes are put on or taken off. They stay put in other words. My evaluation is that the material is very high quality and I have every expectation of excellent durability and longevity.By the way, I am using these on a pair of cheap Costco sneakers that came with removable foam insoles that I didn't like at all and kept folding over. These insoles make these economic shoes perfectly wearable and comfortable. 5Physical Therapist Approved!Physical Therapist was recommending an orthotic for my daughter, and was going to suggest an expensive medical one, but since we had just purchased this one, she took a look. She was very impressed and said it will work just fine for my daughter!Excellent value!I bought this for my own plantar fasciitis and it also did the trick.
