Winner! Wow just wow!Wow just wow if you like a medium blend and don't like a real bitter cup but don't desire watery coffee then this is my top pick so far. I have been testing dozens of brands so keep an eye out for my reviews as I have a pretty discerning palate and you might just agree with me.5The BEST Coffee!EXCELLENT Organic coffee. I recently switched our organic coffee brand to Equal Exchange and LOVE that I did. They are highly ranked in the organic coffee reviews for doing all things RIGHT from start to finish. Our old brand was being sold by sellers that were not doing right by the brand so it was time to switch. I wish I had done so earlier. Equal Exchange Coffee ALWAYS tastes great, it is never bitter and makes and excellent cup of coffee EVERY time. This company cares about their coffee bean sourcing and quality and it shows in the finished product. I highly recommend Equal Exchange Coffee to anyone that wants an excellent coffee free from the typical laundry list of pesticides and other toxins found in traditional coffee. We have bought and consumed over 12 bags of Equal Exchange and will continue to buy more each month. My love for it is almost as red as the bag it comes in.A little strong for an evening coffee but it's so delicious, it smells so fantastic, that it's hard not to drink this all the time. Does this taste better than Folgers or Maxwell House? Good heavens, yes. Is the superior character and flavor(s) worth the extra cost? I would say no, for that reason alone. What makes this coffee more than worth the money is that it's organic. The Coffee industry produces one of the most sprayed plants of all. Then it's a GREAT coffee!5Good organic, fair trade coffee but can t get order right!**Update: I placed an order for this 3-pack of French Roast ground coffee twice in the last few months; and they just cannot get the order right. My order from May was two bags of French Roast, but also one bag of Love Buzz. Then the order I placed at the end of June was not only whole beans - instead of ground - but all 3 bags were decaffeinated too. Nobody is checking the orders before they package them in 3s obviously, because the sticker sealing the package still reads French Roast Ground. So they re just throwing them together, putting the wrong sticker on w/out checking, and then scanning and assuming it s correct when shipping, w/out confirming. They re replacing this last order...we ll see if I actually get the correct 3 bags. But I think now I have to find somewhere else to buy this, so I can get what I ordered the first time. **I ve tried a few different types of Equal Exchange coffee - Love Buzz, Breakfast Blend - but I think the French Roast may be my favorite. I prefer dark roast, and this one has a good flavor without the bitterness. This can sometimes be less than ideal because the coffee can taste off (usually too weak). I was worried the same would be true about this Breakfast Blend, since those can generally be on the weaker side, but was pleasantly surprised at how bold and flavorful this was. It smells great, too - just opening the bag in the morning helped wake me up!I highly recommend this, particularly since it is organic and free trade. Equal Exchange is an excellent brand, and I first learned about it thanks to its partnership with Catholic Relief Services' Ethical Trade Program. If you have ever added hot water to a cup of too-strong coffee, then that is how this tastes freshly brewed. I can taste the water yet the burned taste remains and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I dripped both bags so the change in taste isn't due to any change in brewing. I have a coffee bean grinder but keep a bag of already ground around for when I'm rushed. Consequently, I bought the first bag some time ago since I didn't use it every day. Perhaps there has been a change in roasting or something since then. The coffee is organic and fair-trade, both important to me so perhaps I'll try this again someday since I liked the first bag. I realize taste like so many other things is subjective but this bag I can't recommend.3Organic and mellow...We have been buying Equal Exchange coffee for awhile. We've tried both the beans and the ground and have found little difference in taste. Our local natural grocery store sells this as well, but it is cheaper through Amazon and of course we love having it delivered monthly through Subscribe and Save.We prefer to buy organic coffee because pesticides can become magnified in the drying process. So, we try to get the best quality we can for the best available price. We enjoy the Equal Exchange Breakfast Blend because it is mellow and not bitter, it is strong but not acidic, and we can enjoy it iced or hot. We typically brew an entire pot and drink it over the course of a couple of hours. We have found the quality and flavor to be consistent from one batch to the next. Though we often try other brands, this is a part of our regular monthly order.5Decent coffee, seems finely groundFirst, I don't know jack about coffee, so take this for what it's worth. I thought this was decent coffee and it is organic which is a plus, but it is too finely ground for my use, goes right through a metal strainer and will require a paper filter. The taste is definitely a medium roast which I am perfectly happy with, and it is better than the free stuff I get at work.4
