Weak coffeeDecided to give this a try, and I'm not a fan. I use a stove top percolator and I had to leave it on for longer because it wasn't strong enough. Flavor is very mild to me. I normally drink Jamaican coffee but I also like to try other countries' coffees and flavored coffees. However, I'm beginning to think that climate change is affecting how coffees taste - increased temperatures affect flavor, and the last 2 years have been the hottest on record so far.3Found my coffeeWe normally use Maxwell House Lite, but it seemed to start having a bitter aftertaste. I went on a new coffee search. We drink a lot of coffee, so either mixing or half caff was a must. This is absolutely wonderful coffee. We love the flavor and so far, we've brewed consistently smooth coffee.5The real deal originalWe use this for pour over coffee in a chemex glass pot and also as campfire coffee in a purcalator which we have perk the traditional 5 minutes. Wonderfully balanced flavor and smooth. We drive an hour to shop in a town with over 300,00 people and none of the National chains carry Hills brothers. So we get it here shipped monthly. Great price and favorite coffee for 4 generations.5Burnt Peanut Shell Concerns???? - No Ingredients Listed.Grandma opted to try Hillls Bros. Coffee again after many years. She remembers when the brand name was *Hills Brothers* and liked their coffee during her *farm days* Thus we added it to our S&S as there was a delay in restock of her favorite coffee.When it arrived it was opened right away. As a non-coffee drinker now do to dietary restrictions. I usually have a *missing it * moment each time during fixing her coffee. Not with this stuff it smelled burnt in the can, brewing it only intensified the burnt smell.Grandma quickly asked me what's in there. I didn't understand her urgency but looked for the ingredients list. I couldn't find anything ingredients listed only *high yield coffee* that seemed odd to me, thought everything was labeled today.She tasted it and said it reminds her of burnt peanut shells, some coffee makers use fillers like peanut shells. This is a problem for our household because several people are peanut allergic. One them severely. So after about 20 minutes being here it was thrown about because we just didn't know what was in it.Grandma told me the only thing that was still the same was the metal can, although they were more decorative as back then people reused the cans. She still has a few packed away.It use to have a nice strong coffee flavor that was just bitter enough for milk or cream. Now it's very bitter and doesn't taste like coffee at all. She was very disappointed in it and wouldn't have finished had it not been for the ingredient concerns.1A bit above average.I got this for my father as I'm not a coffee drinker. Hills Brothers is apparently what my dad grew up with and his dad too but sadly this coffee isn't sold at any stores near us so I thought I'd get him this and he said it was just as good as he remembered it. Take that praise as you will, if you're in the market for a different coffee I'd suggest this over Folgers or the like as it seems to fill that niche category of coffee that you always have on hand.5Great morning blend. Works with Keurig re-usable cups***UPDATE 8/20/2014***I purchased a few tins of this stuff. After opening the 2nd I noticed the coffee tasted a little stale, just slightly but it was drinkable still. After opening the 3rd tin, the coffee definitely lost some flavor and was more stale. Weird considering they were all sealed and the seal was still in place when opened. Guess these things don't store too well.***END OF UPDATE***This is a great all around coffee, but especially delicious first thing in the morning. I was sad to see it go from my local grocery, but happy to see it again here on Amazon. I might be paying 20-30% more here but it's still worth the price.On a side note, the coffee brews just as delicious in a re-usable Keurig k-cup.4Such a great coffee!This coffee is outstanding. I grew up watching my parents drink this, and couldn't believe it was still available. We don't have this locally, so I jumped at the chance to order it. My husband is now giving up his Folgers! Community Coffee is pricey, so we only splurge on that every so often now, or try to get it on sale. This is JUST as good. It smells nostalgic to me, and it has a rich, great taste without being bitter. I purchased two cans at the BEST price, and after that I signed up for two cans every month on auto-delivery! I was floored at how great their coffee was. I had to know what they served, hoping it wasn't some 'restaurant' brand that I couldn't get my hands on. When I found out that it was Hills Bros coffee and filtered water I was excited. Purchased my first can of coffee to give it a try and sure enough, it's the brand! Now I'm an exclusive Hills Bro's coffee drinker. (Rich flavor, no after taste)5The best coffee.Heavens yes. This is the coffee I grew up with. This is coffee defined. It is rich and mellow and everything coffee should be. I have given up tea and gone back to a cup of coffee now that I have found my Hills Brothers again. I love this stuff. You can take your Starbucks and stuff it. This is coffee and the way it should be.5Excellent Coffee Usually not Found in Stores Anymore!The only coffee my husband will drink and he loves it!
