Perfect for jaw surgery healing!I recently had jaw surgery and this was a must have item and I was so happy that I had ordered it ahead of time. The gel packs worked perfectly for both freezing and heating in microwave, and the material in the sleeves really helped to maintain the cold or heat. The material is nice too and feels comforting on your face. It was so comfortable, that several times I found myself napping especially with the heated pad inserted. It played a huge role in my healing and I'm so grateful for the reviews that led me to purchase this. It is SO worth the money! 5Life Changing ProductSo happy I found this product. I suffer from horrible jaw pain and have to ice my jaw around three times a week. This is the best product I have found to ice it with. It wraps around my head snugly and holds the ice packs right over my jaw on both sides. I can wear it comfortably, even when laying down. I highly recommend this product. 5Improved my post op experience significantlyMy oral surgeon was super impressed that i had this at my appointment. My travel time to and from the surgeons office was about 4 or more hours so i was super pleased to have this while sitting in the car traveling back home.Very comfortable 5Sort of did the jobI had my wisdom teeth removed last week, and purchased this so that I wouldn t have to worry about holding ice packs up against my face. For that purpose, it worked pretty well.I didn t have any issues with the wrap fitting correctly, as some other reviewers have mentioned. I m not sure if the size has been changed recently, but I am a relatively small person, and it fit nice and snug against my face.I did notice the strong chemical smell others have mentioned as soon as I opened the box, like a very strong vinyl kind of smell. It dissipated after a while, but returned when I microwaved the gel packs. I got used to it after a while, but I could definitely see how it might be a big problem for some people.The gel packs were the worst thing about this product. First of all, the photo showing four packs is very misleading, as the product only comes with two. Most importantly, the packs do not stay cold even close to long enough. After the recommended two hours in the freezer, they stayed cold for about 10 minutes. I was instructed by the oral surgeon to use the ice 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off, meaning the packs stayed cold for only about 1/3 of the required time. I eventually resorted to putting ziploc bags full of frozen peas in the pocket, which worked much better! I microwaved the gel packs a few times for my sore jaw, and they stayed warm just a few minutes longer than they stayed cold.Overall, the product sort of did what it was supposed to do. It was nice to be able to apply ice and fall asleep without worrying about where the ice ends up! However, the horrible gel packs just killed it for me. I m sure there are similar products out there that do a much better job, and I would recommend looking for one of those instead. 3TMJ? No problem!Wow! This is such an awesome product. I have had TMJ issues for most of my life, but a few months ago I started experiencing popping and extreme pain in my jaw from grinding my teeth. I grind my teeth when I'm awake and stressed, but the dentist insisted I should get a night guard that cost $500! He also recommended doing warm compresses and I discovered this wonderful wrap. There has been such a difference for my jaw since using this that I'm extremely grateful for it.**Update**- greetings from autumn 2019! I repurchased this because I burst my packs in the microwave. I noticed I had some horrible tension/clicking in my jaw when I was eating. I tend to let a lot of tension into my jaw area. I ve used this just a few times and it s made a huge difference again. I cannot express what a lifesaver this is. This is a necessity if you have any TMJ issues. 5Teenage daughter wisdom teeth lifesaverMy 15 year old needed her wisdom teeth outStumbled upon this while searching for ice packsHaving had mine out I know it's horrible and sooooo glad that I bought thisHer hands were free for her beloved phone and to nap without having to hold ice to her faceI bought extra round ice packs from amazon and just placed two on each side while the packs that came with this set were freezing againVery well made ice packs and wrapThis set will last for a long time and we could easily use it for other body parts like kneesI will say that she did need to have her hair in a top bun in order for this to stay out because it's big and the Velcro doesn't extend that far to make it smaller but the bun helped and she loved how soft it was as well 5AWWWW HELLL YEAH!I recently had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed, and I am SO freaking glad I bought this before the surgery! Even though I can handle pain better than most, and the swelling on my face was minimum-moderate, I still enjoyed and wanted ice to be applied to my face 24/7! It did help with the pain and swelling. The quality of the ice packs and the head wrap itself are pretty solid. There was minimum fraying on the outer rim of the ice packs (because I used them so much), but there was zero ware and tare on the head wrap. By the way, whatever the material the head wrap is, is very breathable and durable.My only con about this product is I wish more of my cheeks could be covered by ice, but this is such a small gripe.5 stars all around! I would HIGHLY recommend getting this product if you're having any surgical procedure done! 5Love this for my migrainesI must say I love this ice pack. I have chronic severe migraines that are intractable. Sometimes the only things that help me are dark rooms, ice packs, and serious medication. This ice pack does the job wonderfully. I safety pinned the middle section that typically goes under the chin to make it fit between my eyebrows or over my ear and around my head perfectly. The space between the ice packs gives me room to turn the packs so that my ear isn t frozen, but the important parts of my head (usually one side so my forehead/eyebrow & back of my head) are in contact with the ice, but not the rest. The Velcro-like closure lets me adjust the tightness so that I can apply pressure to my head or leave it looser depending on my tolerance at the time. The included ice packs fit great in the Lot Fancy lavender eye mask sold here on Amazon as well. I use the eye mask if my migraine centers on both my eyes and this ice pack if my migraine is one sided or primarily my forehead. Initially out of the freezer, the thinner inner fabric is too cold, so I flip it inside out until the ice pack has warmed up (or my skin has cooled off) enough to turn it over. I usually get a good 20 minutes out of the ice packs. If I need more, I switch ice pads and have another session with the ice. 5Buy in advance of oral surgery!This was indispensable during daughter s wisdom teeth extraction recovery. We were given a cheap satin wrap from the surgery center, but when cycling it on and off every 30 minutes, having two wraps and extra cold packs was really nice those first few days because there was always one that was completely cold at hand. Her swelling was minimal thanks to this comfortable cold pack and setting a timer every 30 min during waking hours those first three days post-op. Buy it in advance of surgery date so it will be chilled and ready as soon as you get home!Now that her surgery recovery is done, I have repurposed it as a wrap to cool off while having hot flashes, as mine tend to make my cheeks and face hot, hahahaHighly recommend. Quality is nice, it is soft and comfortable and Velcro is easy to adjust. It stays on well. 5Exactly what I was looking for /w padsJust got my package and are trying the product for the first time as I type at this time I am extremely pleased. I suffer from TMG which comes and goes when it comes it affects me completely almost immobilizing me. Usually I use a water soaked wash cloth (micro waved for 60 seconds) and a heating pad to keep it warm this is bulky but effective.With the pads it seems to keep the treatment heated for about 20, not bad since you can have a new one heated up and ready and just witch them out. I think I may also heat the cloth and put it on the inside, that warm-hot-moist heat feels great. 5
