YUMMY!SOOOO good! My husband was stoked to finally have some jerky again, nearly 5 years after we went vegetarian. :) Lousville is really yummy, it has the classic, dry jerky taste and texture. All of the flavors are really yummy! I also can't find an expiration date anywhere on the package. I probably won't buy this product again, which is unfortunate because Louisville Vegan Jerky makes a great product. I read the comments from other customers who had experienced the mold issue, but since I had made other purchases in the past I thought that maybe there was just a bad batch.UPDATE: I was contacted by a representative of the company who apologized for the issue, which is apparently not on their end. The representative told me that Louisville Vegan Jerky has been working diligently to resolve the issue and they are frustrated that moldy bags keep popping up. He sent me a new order, which was not moldy, so I was able to eat it. It is honestly really good jerky and due to this kind of response, I'm hopeful that the mold issue will be a thing of the past. The Bourbon Smoked Black Pepper flavor is not my favorite (Maple Bacon 4eva) but it is pretty delicious and it's far better than any other vegan jerky I've tried.5one word- YUCK!I would give no star if I could. Product was nasty tasting and smelled like rubbing alcohol. Wish the ingredients were clearly listed before I purchased it. side note- it's loaded with sodium its almost like I was paying for blood pressure. totally not worth the money wish I could have used my $$$ somewhere else1Great new snack!I tried this because I was looking for a new vegetarian snack, but I didn't really expect too much because it seems too odd to be really tasty. If you feel adventurous and want a new fun source of protein I definitely recommend this!5Who Knew?Two things drew me to try the smoked black pepper jerky; the soybeans were non-GMO and plain old curiosity (vegan jerky, really?!). Much to my surprise, it was very tasty! Since my personal tastes won't really help anyone, on to specifics.1. The product delivered on the authentic beef jerky flavor. 2. There was no strange aftertaste (which can happen with meat substitutes). 3. The texture can best be described as springy (but still firm). It didn't bother me at all, but my husband didn't like that aspect. 4. The reason I gave it 4 stars is b/c it was quite salty (and I *really* like salt). I ate 3 pieces b/f it became an issue. On the bright side, it will take me longer to finish the bag.I would recommend this to anyone looking for a flavorful, meat-free, non-GMO snack. And let's face it - if you have an aversion to salt, you wouldn't be looking for jerky in the first place. It's been a few years since I've had meat, and I rarely had meat in my adult life, due to a dislike, so I can't fairly compare this to the real thing, but it tastes great! I believe the sodium content is about the same as regular jerky, if anyone is wondering. It's not something I need to worry about, since mine I have low sodium issues, and low BP. This vegan jerky was so good, I ended up eating the entire bag in a day. I've since purchased this in the 5-pack of assorted flavors, and I tried the BBQ (I've never been a fan when it was real meat), but it was delicious!
