raises blood sugarThe taste is fine. It worked well in everything I tried. The issue is that it raised my blood sugar. I bought it so I could sweeten food without raising blood sugar. The ingredients in the picture include "11% Organic Alcohol". The actual bottle that I received says "11% Cane Alcohol", instead. Cane, of course, being sugar.So 3 stars because it does what it is supposed to do. However, it is not as advertised and is not a sugar free sweetener. 3Still Getting Used to the Different Taste... 1st Time Stevia UserPurchased the NOW Foods Liquid Stevia Organic 2 Oz bottle of liquid Stevia (mentioning this because Amazon sometimes combines reviews of similar products).This is my first test into the Stevia sweetener alternative to various other sweeteners. It came in a plastic bottle with a flip-top cap that allows you to control how many drops are used fairly well. However, I'm still trying to get used to it (on day 3 using it in Coffee). There is definitely a different taste. One reviewer mentioned a "chemical" taste and I can sort of taste that too. My guess is because of the Alcohol in it.Others have question what's all in this, and according to the label, here it is (exactly how it is written):Ingredients: De-ionized Water, Certified Organic Stevia Extract (Stevia rebaudiana) (Leaf) and 11% Organic Alcohol.Other Nutrition facts:Serving Size: 4 drops (.13mL)Services Per Container: about 462.Amount Per serving:Calories: 0gTotal fat: 0gSodium: 0mgTotal Carbohydrates: 0gSugars: 0gProtein: 0gCertified Organic by QAI. Listed as Vegetarian / Vegan. 3Great tasteLet's face it, I like my sweets and won't be giving up ice cream or donuts any time soon. But in between my periodic indulgences, I have no problem giving up sugar where I can. I started using Stevia a few years ago in my drinks, plain yogurt, etc and while it certainly isnt as satisfying as sugar, it's an acceptable, healthy alternative.I started with Truvia, switched to Trader Joes pure stevia extract powder. Neither one tasted particularly good to me. There was an aftertaste. Then I decided to go the liquid extract route and tried this product based on the positive reviews. There's no after-taste at all to me with this one. I usually add 4-5 drops to a cup of coffee or tea, or a bit more if I'm making chocolate milk with unsweetened coco powder. My afternoon treat is an individual size plain yogurt, which I add about 8 drops stevia extract, a bit of vanilla extract and some fresh fruit and nuts. Delicious!The small 2oz bottle has a pretty good dropper top, and you can just refill it with the more economical 8oz bottle when you run out. 5Stevia Liquid betterSiempre compro esta marca de stevia. Muchas gracias 5Not as good tasting as the originalI've been using the original for a while, but this was on sale, so i decided to try it. The consistency is a bit different, and it actually tastes even sweeter than the original. It doesn't come out of the bottle very good either. I will continue to use it though. It's not the worst, lol. I will be switching back in the future. 3I'm so glad I didAfter seeing all the reviews I ordered liquid stevia. I'm so glad I did! I drink a lot of tea and coffee. I was looking for a better alternative to cane sugar. Once I figured out how to use it I was hooked. It has no after taste and no smell. I have given up sugar thanks to my starter liquid stevia. I now carry it to resturants just to sweeten my drinks. What's so nice other than the flavor is the portability. I would recommend to anyone who is looking to kick the sugar habit. 5NO AFTER TASTEI don't normally review products but I just had to give one on this product. I'm so happy with this organic stevia THERE IS NO AFTER TASTE. I use this in my green smoothie and green tea. #Finally 5Best stevia that i have triedI have come to the conclusion that I don't like stevia very much, but this is the best stevia that I have found. In this liquid form, it is 100% better than any powdered form that I have found. The hole in the cap makes it easy to dispense the right amount and it easy to build to the right level of sweetness for you. 4This works for me...I'm a type 2 diabetic. They say sugar is bad for diabetics (and apparently, everyone else). Now they say artificial sweeteners are also bad for you. But I have never seen it stated anywhere that stevia is bad for you and I can tell you that stevia does not raise my blood sugar. I put a few drops of Better Stevia in my morning coffee, along with cream, and I'm good to go. I have not experienced any bitter taste. My suggestion is when you are using this, start with one or two drops and build up to a sweetness that is acceptable to you. You should not sprinkle this willy-nilly. I do not use more than a few drops in a regular size coffee. Going overboard can cause that bitter aftertaste that some people experience. Stevia is very sweet so a little goes a long way. 5Works - but a little awkwardThe Pro's:It's exactly as described. Grease collects at the bottom and I feel I collect more of it than I would if I'd cooked it in the pan.The Con's:When coming out of the microwave, the bacon shrivels up (this is at 3 minutes, folks) and the ends touch each other so it removes like a ring of bacon flowers. Some might think this is cool, but not when I want bacon strips.Overall thoughts: The price point is too high for it not to cook bacon flawlessly. I'd have been happy with this as a $10 purchase, to deal with the shriveling, end touching and wreath of bacon that comes out. Will I use it? Probably. While I'm looking for something else. 3
