FAKE? BAD BATCH? NOT the same as in storesI have bought this twice from Amazon and been burned by an off product. First time I bought 2 lb tub whereas I usually bought 1 lb at Target so I chalked the difference up to size and maybe the large tubs getting stale. This time I only ordered 1 lb because my Target stopped carrying it and it s still a different product.The texture is worse than store bought Orgain (not as finely milled/silky) so it doesn t mix as well. But maybe most important it doesn t taste as good. It also has an offputting artificial smell. Also the color of the powder is slightly different - the store Orgain is lighter. This is not the same product!!!Do yourself a favor and find the real thing in a store. 1If you're realistic about plant protein, this is greatI wanted to keep my consumption of animal protein low and this fit the bill so I tried it.Yes, it's a bit grainy. (It's got 5 g of fiber per serving so I pretend the grittiness is just proof.)Yes, it tastes a little chalky.Yes, the Stevia leaves a bizarre aftertaste.But I don't understand what else anyone expects from a protein powder made from plants. This tastes exactly like I thought it would-- a hippie grocery store bulk section...in powder form.Is it delicious? Lol.Is it smooth and sweet? No and no.Is it the best tasting protein powder I've ever had? Absolutely not.Is it as versatile as whey? Hell no.Is it 20 grams of organic plant protein that goes down relatively easily and makes me feel like I'm not guzzling Brondo or bovine growth hormone? Yes, yes, yes and yes.Call me crazy, but when I'm looking for an organic plant protein powder, I understand it's not going to taste like a milkshake. And I'm okay with that. 5My all time favorite protein powderI needed to save money and cancel my Shakeology subscription. I did some research and found this product as a good substitute. I tried the chocolate and I have to say, I'm really impressed. It blends really well when making a shake and tastes delicious. I ordered Vega One mocha flavor, be which I love but have found it to be really runny when blended. I like a somewhat thicker shake. Orgain will become a regularly used product in my house! I just ordered the vanilla and can't wait to try it.Update: I ordered the vanilla and I love it. And this is saying a lot since I really have never cared for any vanilla protein powders. I use the Shakeology recipes I find on Pinterest and use them with both Orgain powders and they always turn out well delicious. I really can't say enough how happy I am that I took the plunge and ordered these. 5Tastes great!!I use to purchase the Warrior Blend Chocolate shake by SunWarrior and had to get used to that taste (dirt)....but this one, along with the Vanilla, is easy peasy and tastes deeelish!! They mix will and have a pleasant taste. I used to drink the whey shakes before going vegan and am used to the highly sugar/sweet taste of the milk versions, the plant-based took a bit of getting used to, but I would honestly say if your transitioning to a plant-based protein powder from whey/casein/etc, this brand will be your closest match to the taste and smoothness that you are used to. Since I have been doing plant-based shakes for a while, I actually had to lessen the amount of OJ I used in my morning shake with the Vanilla Orgain powder as I found it way too sweet, which is a good thing, less calories. 5Tastes good but you don t get a ton of product!The product itself tastes good! I am lactose intolerant and have a gluten allergy so I needed something without both, definitely a great option! The only part I was disappointed about was that the container only comes half way full... which I expect to get all of something when I pay for it 4Watch the size!!!!!Love the product!! I order all the time however I accidentally purchased this one that was similar in price to my normal 2lb tub and when it arrived it was only 1.02lbs!!!! FINALLY!!Im new to being a Vegan, but I have used Whey based protein powder for years, and have tried TONS of them; everything from cheap store brands, to expensive store brands, to health food store brands, to "designer" brands available only online..and EVERY SINGLE BRAND *always* had that nasty "protein-y" aftertaste, even the "award winning" ones that promised no aftertaste. Now that I'm a vegan, I need a way to get more protein in, and using protein powder fits my lifestyle, so it was time to find a vegan one. I figured a vegan one would taste even worse than regular Whey based protein, so I decided I would just order any one I came across and just choke it down. Trust me, I had ZERO hope for this product... So last night I made a green smoothie with it, and WOW, ZERO AFTERTASTE! So I said to myself "it probably really does taste bad and the bad taste is masked by the other ingredients".. So this morning I added a scoop to PLAIN, unflavored no sugar oatmeal, and again, WHOA..NO AFTERTASTE! I cant believe not only is there no bad taste, but the taste that is there is GOOD! No weird, chemical "fake" vanilla flavor.. no overly sweet taste.. I keep looking for the problems I have had with literally EVERY OTHER protein powder I have ever had, but this product has none of those issues. Now, keep in mind, I am not a person who mixes protein powder with water, shakes it in a mixer bottle and drinks it: so If you are looking for a review based on that type of usage, I have no idea. I always add my protein powder to other things. But, that being said, with Whey based protein, no matter what flavor I bought (including UN-Flavored) and no matter how many ingredients I mixed it with, I have always been able to taste that weird, "off" gross aftertaste, but NOT with this. Even the texture is great! If I had known vegan protein powder was this good, I would have chosen it over the gross tasting Whey based powder years ago, even before becoming vegan! 5YES!LOVE THIS PROTEIN- I mix a scoop of this with one scoop of their *Orgain Organic Superfoods, Berry* with almond or cashew milk in a blender bottle every morning. I am shocked by how much energy I have through the day now and how full I stay. I used to drink 3-5 cups of coffee per day and now I maybe drink 1. Granted I have only been drinking this for one week, but it is a dramatic difference for me.*Background- I suffer from a histamine allergy and cannot have a lot of overly processed foods or powders and this stuff completely agrees with my stomach (Even helps with the PMS grogginess!)At this price, I would honestly recommend 5
