Nice little glasses with style. :DI recently ordered 2 pairs of these glasses (blue and gold) and I must say it's quite stylish. The glasses came in a tube that looks like fat pens xD and also a black pouch for each glasses. The glasses are light and it is good for what it is and does what its made to do being inexpensive, don't expect them to be all that. One of the glasses (gold one) came with scratched lens and so I e-mailed Newbee and their customer service was wonderful. They promptly replaced the glasses with no hassle and I really appreciated how they paid attention to their customers. All in all it was a good buy and I will be purchasing stuf from them again in the future. 5Ignore those who say Won't CloseI love these lightweight reading glasses best, and I own many pair, lol! The case keeps them from getting scratched, whether I leave them on the table upside down or in purse. So light I'll take them in my purse, even though I keep it as lightweight as possible . They are glass and work perfectly. I did lose 1 nosepad in last 3(?) months of taking on and off many times a day. As for their awesome case, very lightweight with a plastic liner to prevent the glass from getting scratched. Those who say it won't close did what I did first 15 seconds, get stymied that I couldn't get them "all the way in". Thats because it is a 2" lid! They're not supposed to go in flush! Lolz! 5Lets me read and the case is perfect for preventing scratchesThese dainty, slim, easy to carry readers are just what I wanted, and the case might dent a little under the reckless abuse that I give it, but it's prevented scratches so far, and that's a good thing. Great color choices for those of us who are bored with grey, grey, matte silver, faux golden-tone, and grey.Note - the case is a deep metallic fuchsia, but the glasses frames are instead a candy-tone rich purple. It's a small difference, and not a bad one. Definitely for the purple lovers more so than for pink princesses. 5The name should have warned me . . . .Lasted less than a year. First problem: pocket 'clip' kept coming off. Tried gluing it back on after several times of hunting it down and re-snapping it into place. Even the glue failed. Was going to try gorilla-glue on it next, might be a bit messy but g-g usually glues about anything. But I lost the clip the next time it came off. Oh well, not a deal breaker since I generally slipped them into a suit coat pocket or the front pocket on my slacks or jeans. Then day before yesterday I was at the DMV and had to fill in a tiny-print form. So, I pulled out my trustee Newbee and put them on -- badly scratching the right side of my nose (enough so it bled -- great, right *before* I get my picture taken for the new DL). The plastic end piece on the corresponding side of the nose-bridge protector was gone, leaving a fine wire to imprint itself on my nose. So, I'm off looking for something new. Won't purchase these again, that's for sure. The name should have warned me . . . 1Frame has no color, only the part of the bow that goes over the ear has any color.Have only had these a few days, construction seems okay although after reading other reviews I am a little skeptical. From the photo of the glasses in their tube I thought the entire frame had some tint to it. The photo IS misleading! Big disappointment. Who cares if there is color to the part of the bow that is hidden by my hair? I will keep them but not reorder. Sadly, I already have another 2 pair on the way from Newbee and for some reason the tracking information says they are "Out for delivery" in another state. 3Buy something else...these are JUNKI wanted to like these glasses, and ignored the poor ratings.First, the cases were a piece of junk...the liners wouldn't stay in the case, and neither of the cases would stay closed.Second, the small pieces of metal that is attached to the bridge to hold the nose pads on were off-center and crooked, about 30 from parallel with the bridge. This left the right nose pad sitting about 1/4" lower than the left pad. There was no way to bend them to center.Last, whatever type of material the nose pads are made of off-gassed enough smell to be offensive when the glasses were on my face. My wife would even smell them on my face after I took them off. I left them on the dresser for a week, and on the day that I threw them in the trash, I could smell them when I walked into the bedroom. I could even smell them a couple of days later, and then I remembered I had bought the extra nose pads that other reviewers said were always falling off.I'm not writing for a refund. Amazon has always been good to me, but I got more satisfaction twisting them into a ball and putting them in the sealed kitchen trash can. 1The first pair of these worked fine and arrived as expectedThe first pair of these worked fine and arrived as expected. The case is a tight fit and isn't very useful to me but the glasses slip easily into a shirt pocket. They are very serviceable and only about .8 inches tall so you can easily look over the top of them when viewing things farther away and through them when looking at materials on your desk. I bought another pair at the same time, but didn't have quite as good a result. The vendor initially sent the wrong strength, even though the packing slip showed the proper value for each pair. The vendor did work to make things right. They requested I send a photo of the wrong pair and after receiving it sent a replacement pair. Unfortunately, while the replacement pair was the correct magnification, the nose piece was not centered properly. I did not give the vendor a chance to respond to this because it was easier to just bend and cut the nose piece to work - however, I think most folks would not have the tools to do this. The quality of these glasses is unpredictable, but not terrible, thus the three stars. If I could rate the vendor performance separately, they would get four stars for quickly responding, but they still need better quality control. 3Glad I purchased them!Although I ve just been using them for a few days, here is my take thus far.I am female and I purchased the gold, two in an order, @ 2.5. They were packaged well and came incased in plastic inside the metal holder. They were completely straight and true upon inspection. The glass does not distort vision in any way. They are fairly lightweight and comfortable on my nose, and I can see well over the top. The metal case is good for not taking up much space either in pocket or handbag. And while I cannot tell about durability as of yet, they are attractive eyeglasses and in my opinion, a good value. 5Quality and priceI used them for reading. Since my cataract Surgery I have required reading glasses and for the past 8 years, I have been buying them in places like Wal-Mart or Walgreen that last one or two months. Then I went to the net and found this wonderful company called Optix55. Found the glasses I have been looking for and since then I had used only one of the set of two I order. I consider this the best investment I have made in a long time. They are comfortable, stylish, fit my needs at an exceedingly reasonable price. I will never have to look for another brand of glasses again!! 5Convenient, but Far from PerfectI like these small rimmed glasses b/c I can easily see over them when needed. In addition, they easily tuck away inside the carry case and conveniently stow in a shirt or pants pocket.They seem to be clear enough and do a good job, which for me is to occasionally magnify objects for my middle aged eyes. The down side is they easily slip off my nose, especially when you have to look down at even a slight angle. I purchased a similar set of small rim glasses here on Amazon several years ago that stayed on my face reasonably well, but didn't include the carry cases.Overall, I'm happy with the "Newbee Fashion" glasses for reading or temporary use, but would look elsewhere if I needed them as a temporary set of work glasses for magnifying small objects or reading fine print. 4
