Don t waste your money.I found this ice bag extremely ineffective, as far as icing behind my knee, and extremely uncomfortable. The ice is small 1 inch squares that are hard as concrete (and they never softened up to conform around the back of my knee), terrible to try wrapping around a post op knee. And scant icy feel, as far as reducing swelling. Absolutely would not buy or recommend. 1A little too big for a kneeThis wrap seems well made and was very easy to apply, but I have 2 issues with it. 1) It s so large that it covers not just the knee but several inches above the knee over my thigh muscles and 1/2 of my calf as well. This is fine if you don t mind icing areas other than your actual knee (I m 5 8 with long legs), but I found it uncomfortable on the back of my thigh and calf especially since the injury is just my knee joint. 2) The ice cells freeze into hard ice, not soft gel. When I wrapped my knee I had a hard time adjusting the wrap to avoid the sore areas that were sensitive to pressure. Even lightly wrapped, the hard chunks of ice were uncomfortable over those areas. I have a gel ice wrap that I can comfortably apply much tighter than this one. 3Great size! Effective product!I'm largely very pleased with this wrap. It encompasses my entire knee, giving me the all around cooling I need post-op. The downside is that the nature of the little pockets of ice are just water filled, and in the top of my knee, where it is most hot and swollen, the pockets melt and I can't get a full twenty minutes of icing out of it. Repositioning it once throughout the therapy may help. I wish it had some sort of other substance in the inserts that would retain the frozen state longer. 44yrs and going strong!!I've had this for 4 years now and with chronic knee injuries by way if meniscus tears, arthoscipic surgery and having arthritis and chronic pain/swelling, this thing is truly a godsend! It straps on to for your level of comfort, the fleece lining is great, and the fact that it covers such a large area is fantastic. I get so much relief from using this thing and after 30 minutes is still cold and my swelling has gone down tremendously. A lot of people have beef with the ice packs inside and how hard they feel but honestly, my knee is so cold/numb that I don't feel them ... I guess that means it works! After 4 years of using this thing on a pretty regular basis overall, it's held up great. Velcro is still fully intact and fleece still good. Will tend to pick up smells from your freezer so don't store it next to fish. And it was today that I leaned that the sections open up to remove the ice packs that come with it, so if you hate what's in there you can put something else in! Overall I give this 5/5 and will be getting a second one to keep at the office for when I need it because NO other ice pack has compared. Well worth the investment! 5The best runners knee medicine!!!I run way too much, and in my late thirties it has caught up to my knees. I tried numerous ice packs I bought at local drugs stores, only to find them either not fit or not cover enough area to be of any help.I found these an amazing and ordered a pair. WOW what a night and day difference. They wrap more than one time around my legs, can be wrapped tight, go well above and below the knee cap, and best of all I am still mobile with them on! These are the BEST ice packs for knees I have tried. The only thing I would suggest is making the elastic straps not sown into the felt of the packs, so that way they can be changed out as the elastic dies its slow death. 5A good purchaseI purchased this product for my total knee replacement which I had three weeks ago. I use it twice during the day after I exercise and once again when I go to bed for the night. I don't freeze mine, I'm very sensitive to ice on my leg and I find that putting it in the refrigerator does just fine, it stays cold for about 15 minutes. I have plenty of wrap around my leg, I didn't even know it came in "sizes" so perhaps I got lucky and received a large, it doesn't indicate a size. Just having one is doing the job for me and is definitly a plus for the overall recover, along with the exercises. 5The Best Post-Knee-Surgery Ice Pack!I suffered a fractured knee that required subsequent surgery this summer and have tried many different ice packs. This is by far the best! The design goes around the entire knee - front, back, left, and right - to ice it all at once instead of 180 degrees at a time. Also, this "ice pack" is actually a flexible lattice of small ice pockets, meaning that it is flexible right out of the freezer. Larger ice packs can be big frozen blocks when first applied, which can create discomfort against a surgical site. The only possible improvement would be if polar sold extra packs separately to allow you to keep a spare set in the freezer. There is a replacement set on Amazon for sale, but that costs more than this entire pack!Definitely skip the drugstore ice packs or general-purpose solutions; this knee wrap is perfect for recovery!(The attached picture demonstrates the individual ice packs and pouch system.) 5So glad I didI had total knee replacement in June 2018 and as all have stated before it is so important to ice your knee for the swelling. I was looking for a ice pack that would cover the knee all round and saw this one and ordered... So glad I did, it is awesome. It completely surrounds my knee for complete coverage and stays cold, sometimes it feels almost too cold, but it has been a life saver. You only 10-15 minutes. I just put it back in the plastic bag it was shipped in and throw it in the freezer for the next time. I highly recommend this product. 5Great for Knee ReplacementI recently bought this ice wrap for my mom's recovery from total knee replacement.Negatives: There are about 6 smaller ice packs that you have to slide into separate pockets in the knee pad that close with Velcro so you either have to freeze the pads separately and deal with the "tedious" work of having to remove and replace the packs every time you use it OR you can freeze it in the wrap directly, but then it takes longer to freeze.Positive: It's a perfect size and it wraps around the whole knee which helped my mom so much with her pain and inflammation. The Velcro makes it stay in place and seems very secure.Overall I gave it 5 stars because it worked so well for my mom. In fact, I bought a second one to swap with the first so while she's wearing the first one, the second is in the freezer! 5Very quality, effective productThis is an excellent product. Anyone who complains "it doesn't get cold enough", "I can't feel the cold", etc. Is trying to treat their injury in too extreme of measures. Research reflex vasodilation.I purchased this product in 2015, and unfortunately made the mistake of leaving it at my old place of work. I just received my second one in the mail and am beyond ecstatic.This product, if left in the freezer overnight and for several hours between uses will serve you just fine. It should fit snug around the whole joint so wrap it tight. Because this product has a durable cloth exterior it can be used without having to wear pants or wrap your knee in a towel and it still cools the joint to complete satisfaction.As someone who has developed many musculoskeletal injuries from years of wear and tear and who knows how to treat muscle or tendon pain, tightness, etc., I fully endorse this product. 5
