Great product for lowering cholesterol.The capsules are very easy to swallow and my cholesterol has lowered already by taking these Red Yeast Rice capsules and also by controlling my diet by eleven points. 5My doctor recommended this product; I'm glad he did!So glad my doctor recommended this product. I'm not able to take statins to control my chronic high cholesterol and after trying several other alternatives that didn't work, my doctor recommended Red Yeast Rice. I began taking BioScience Nutrition's Red Yeast Rice in June 2017; in January 2018 we retested, and while my HDL remains at an optimal level, my LDL was reduced by 20 points. My doctor was thrilled with the result (so was I); and he told me I can continue to see LDL improvement if I continue my Red Yeast Rice regiment (we'll retest in another 6 months). It's a relief to find a viable alternative to prescription medications (and all their unwanted side-effects). Based on my own experience, I definitely recommend this product to anyone who is working with their doctor to control their cholesterol levels. 5Great stuff!Great stuff!! Overall feeling of wellness. In 9 months it went from 301 to 232. 5I m sold - ResultsI waited to review this item so that I could use it and have blood work done to verify. Here are the results: Before use - Total Cholesterol 269; Triglycerides 65; HDL 76; LDL 168. After 2 months - Total Cholesterol 232; Triglycerides 42; HDL 90; LDL 132. I have not had any side effects from this product regarding muscle pain and not being able to walk as when I was on statins many moons ago. I researched this brand and was excited to find a Red Yeast Rice that is citrinin free! That the price is reasonable is an extra bonus. I've read about side effects from RYR, and have not experienced any with this product. 5High Quality Product - know what you takeI was surprised to find out that, since it's not regulated, red yeast rice supplements vary wildly on the amount of monacolin K (chemically identical to the active ingredient in lovastatin), which is what helps lower bad cholesterol. I took a different brand (picked randomly from the store) a couple years ago, and while it didn't hurt me, it didn't help either. Found out recently that it wasn't standardized at all. I went in search of a better product. This is standardized to 2.4 mg of monacolin K per dose. It also contains no citrinin, which is a toxic byproduct of unsafe fermentation practices.Have only been taking this for a couple weeks, so I can't comment yet on whether or not it works for me. I can say that I haven't had any side effects from it, which is great. My doctor referred me to RYR after having problems with prescription statins. Prompt delivery, and very helpful customer service. 5
