Inconsistent product and non-existent customer serviceI have been buying about two 12-packs of this tea every month for the last couple of years. Recently, I received what I can only assume is a bad batch. Compare the color of the liquid in the two bottles pictured. The lighter colored tea has a very faint tea flavor, which is overwhelmed by what I can best describe as a chemical smell -- a bit like mild turpentine. It doesn't just taste different than the tea I'm used to buying, it is unpleasant to the point of being undrinkable.I very, very rarely contact customer service with complaints. Had it been just one bottle, I would have let it go, but it was the entire 12-pack. So, I emailed the company using the address on the bottle. Then, just to be safe, I also emailed the customer support address on the company's website. When I did not receive any response after about a week, I tried filling out the online form for customer support. Again, nothing. Not even an acknowledgement that I had contacted them, much less that I had contacted them three different ways. I would have accepted a simple acknowledgement message and would have been delighted if they had offered to replace the 12-pack. But failing to respond at all is really astounding and leaves me with little confidence that this company cares for its customers.It's a shame that there aren't more companies making simple, unsweetened iced teas. Despite the lack of alternatives, I have a hard time giving this one any more of my business. 2No longer made in Japan?I've been buying this tea for some time now. I have a regular subscribe and save subscription and mix buying this with Ito En's Oi Ocha line of teas as well, just to mix things up.I've rarely had problems with the tea quality (once out of years of buying it, I got one that tasted like bamboo paper) and I really enjoy this tea.However, I just received a shipment today with the new bottle design displayed on the product page. At first I thought, whatever. The plastic is thinner (so don't drop these ones) but it's the same tea, right?Apparently not. The new version is now made in Thailand. I have bottles still of the previous batch I got not two weeks earlier. Those are made in Japan. Given the simplicity of the ingredient list, you could say there's little they could screw up.But, the most important component of tea besides the tea leaves is the water. And there is, to me at least, a noticeable taste difference between the original made in Japan and the new one made in Thailand. The Japanese one is crisp and has that slight bitterness you expect from green tea (I'm half Japanese so it seems built into me to like that aspect of it I guess). The Thai doesn't have that bitterness and is less crisp. It almost feels sweet (maybe it's just my taste buds reacting to the lack of bitterness).The description of the tea goes out of its way to describe how Japanese it is. And to be honest, I would assume, so long as the company still retains some Japanese oversight, the quality of the tea will likely be maintained. But, given the change in venue so to speak and the difference in taste, I'm cancelling my subscription and sticking to the Oi Ocha line.I can only hope they aren't migrating all of their teas over since I don't know of any other vendors selling solid tea like this used to be (I'm not a fan of the sweetened/flavored teas in general). There are a few Japanese grocery stores and chains here in LA I can go to but they're not as convenient and generally sell at retail price rather than having the subscribe and save discount.If you're new to the tea and still want to give it a go, I suggest trying to find it at a grocery store (Whole Foods carries them off and on) and try the new bottle before you commit to a whole 12-pack. 3Worse bait and switch ever!!!I loved this product when I first tried it. I couldn't get enough. Then about two months ago I went to buy more and it was suddenly $8 more a case so I passed on it and ordered the green and white tea. Also very good. Clear tasty and strong.Of course when I went to by more of the green and white tea it had also gone up in price. However the regular green tea had come back down to a reasonable price so I ordered two cases. Best to have enough right?Wrong! You could see the difference. It was much lighter, quite pale and easier to see through. I had occasionally diluted this product because it had such great flavor and strength. But this last stuff sucks the big one. It was weak, weak, weak. As if it had been diluted two or three times. If you put it over ice now you can't taste any tea!Well I guess that's one way to increase your production. But if that's the case then it is incredibly short sighted because I will never buy this product again!Could it be a mistake? Possibly but I certainly won't be bitten twice. Shame on me for the first time.If you have a Keurig style coffee maker the green tea cups make wonderful tea and it's about a third of the price. Of course the convenience of pulling a bottle of iced green tea from the fridge is wonderful but not if you can't trust the consistency of the product or that the price will remain stable.They should give us the ability to let reviews have zero stars! 1What happened??I love the Jasmine Green Tea and have been buying it for years; it's pretty much all I drink. However, the most recent batch I received tastes completely wrong - almost as if it was brewed with barley instead of green tea? I don't know, but I can't drink it, and I'm extremely upset! I want to buy a replacement but am afraid I'll receive another batch of this awful swill... 1Best rose tea I've ever tried!! Refreshing, healthy & delicious. Great teas from a great company.I have always loved rose green tea and this is definitely the best one I've tried. (My favorite middle eastern restaurant makes a mean Rosehip iced tea from scratch, but this is the best bottled brand by far!!). Refreshing, healthy and delicious every time; I have these daily with my lunches and never tire of them. I absolutely love that this flavor is unsweetened - many bottled teas are so overly sweetened that I can't even drink them, not to mention the lost health benefits. The rose flavor does not at all taste soapy or perfumy - it's a subtle, soft floral taste that perfectly compliments the green tea at its core. (The green tea itself is not 'grassy' in taste either - so smooth and yummy!) The fact that Tea's Tea is ethically sourced from sustainable tea farms is a huge plus, and makes me love the company and its entire tea lineup even more :) Highly, highly recommended!! 5... Tea since I was 16 years old and absolutely love love love itI have been drinking Teas' Tea since I was 16 years old and absolutely love love love it! I have really bad stomach problems and as soon as I feel a stomach ache coming on, I grab one. When I was 16 years old, I was so sick I could not even drink water straight. I bought Teas' Teas' green rose tea and I was able to drink it and it helped resolve my stomach problem within a few hours. Honestly, the best tea I have ever had and I have been drinking black tea my whole life. I am 29 years old now and will continue to stay loyal to this brand for the rest of my life. If you haven't tried it, then you are very much missing out and so is your health. 5Amazing if you like green tea, very strongI drink green tea to cure acne and lily skin (yes, it's a miracle cure, and I discovered it my accident).So, I don't like sugary drinks and just want unsweetened tea for the antioxidants. Well, this is some strong tea. Even at half strength (1/2 tea and 1/2 water) it's good.Most people think it's gross and bitter, but I love it and it works great for acne!!! 5Poor Pricing StrategyLove the tea but hate the pricing strategy you use. It goes from being a great buy to a price increase of 50% overnight for no apparent reason. If I wait a few days it goes back down. A consistent good price would be appreciated, as I will then order it on a regular basis. But I will not pay the high price of over $18 when I have paid $13 or less for my orders. Poor strategy or greed! 4Bad Jasmine Tea Batch or Change in Manufacturer?I ve been ordering Tea s Tea for years. The latest shipment was horrible, it tasted like someone added salt or some other strange additive to the tea batch. I tried every bottle in the case and they were all the same and I had to throw them all out.The bottles now say they are made in Thailand (I m pretty sure they used to be made in either Japan or Taiwan depending on the flavor and time period). Not sure if that has anything to do with it.This only applied to the Jasmine flavor. I also ordered the White+Green Tea and that tasted normal. 1The Best Bottled Tea in the World.Ito-En is the best tea company out of Japan. They revolutionized the tea industry with bottled teas. Every tea product from them is so incredibly pure and delicious.This Tea's Tea bottle has only purified water, rose petals, Vitamin C, and green tea. It's truly one of the freshest, healthiest, best quality teas I've ever drank.The rose taste is very gentle and subtle. It's not sweetened, and the taste is brewed to perfection. I promise you, this company gives nothing less than the highest quality. If you like tea on the go, this is the best you can get. I've been drinking it for many many years to stay healthy and hydrated. 5
