Excellent shin supports for shin splintsThese are great. I have large calves that can be problematic with these "one size fits all" things. But the description said up to 20 inches, and they are correct. The Velcro straps are incredibly strong. The Velcro surface is very fine and not the cheap scratchy type. You can adjust the width to very small if you have thin calves as well. They can tighten as tight as you want :) They are easy to apply, and have a contoured shape that fits the natural curve of your calf.They are washable. I have no complaints or way to improve these supports. My primary use for them is to prevent/treat shin splints. There are no support bars in these, just a thick firm supportive material. I wear them over my workout pants just for hygiene purposes, but they are very comfortable on just my bare legs too. 5Pretty impressive!I've been wearing the stocking type of compression socks for a while, and they work well, but are VERY hard to pull on and off. So, I gave these Velcro-on sleeves a try.They are very easy to get on and off and it's easy to adjust the tightness however you want. I pull them about as tight as possible, and it seems to help quite a bit with circulation issues.The other huge benefit - they are stiff enough to stay in place - no slipping down as all the sock-type models I've tried do.And, they are very well made. I am a runner and needed some compression to relieve my shin splint. Design gives you the ability to apply the right amount of compression 5VIVE Shin Brace works just as well as other expensive compression leg wraps.I purchased one VIVE Shin Brace to see if it would help with the blood circulation problem in my legs. I have bad valves in my lower legs, which causes pooling of blood, bad blood circulation, and swelling of my legs and ankles. I have worn a well known brand of tan leg wraps for a couple of years, and find them cumbersome and expensive. I also think I was fitted with the wrong length as I have to overlap the top, which adds to the difficulty of wearing them. I purchased one VIVE Shin Brace to see if it would provide enough compression to help the blood flow in my legs. It not only provides the compression, but it fits better than the other brand, as I don't have to roll the top over. The VIVE Shin Brace also costs five times less than my present leg wraps. The black color of the VIVE looks better than the tan color of the other brand, and the VIVE also look better. I have purchased a second VIVE Shin Brace for my other leg, which arrives today. I will continue to wear the VIVE, and keep my other ugly compression leg wraps as a spare. Bottom line I pulled my calf muscle from my Achilles to my knee. After three weeks of limping around the house I decided to invest in my health, I bought 2-calf braces (1 just in case) from Amazon. I recently played a game and can happily report I had no strain/pain while running.The calf braces are one size fits all unless you have super big calves. I am 5 9 200-pound normal size guy and it fits me well. The calf muscle actually has different diameters and the three Velcro straps hold tight to the upper, mid, and lower calf perfectly and can be adjusted as tight as you want. The brace does not slip down while running or sweating. It does not feel bulky and in my opinion are better than the kind that you have to struggle to get around your ankle and up over the meat part of your calf. For me these are a winner, I almost feel young again.Summary: 5 stars. The three adjustable Velcro straps and not having to pull the brace over my ankle, and the non-slip in the heat of the game. Plus, the mental factor that I can now go-for-it, without holding back, make these calf braces something that I will wear every game. (See my review of the thigh brace also made by Vive). 5Well designed/made, but not a perfect fit for everyoneIt's a very well made support that holds its shape and distributes the pressure well so it doesn't dig in anywhere, but they really mean it when they say it fits most calves. If you have an extreme difference in size between the top of your calf and your ankle, you may find this isn't a perfect fit. While it is highly adjustable, it will pucker between the Velcro tabs if there is a big disparity.The Velcro is super secure, but the edges of the tabs can be very sharp. I wore this to bed and woke up with scratches on my other leg. 4Perfect support while my fibular healedI had broken my fibula and needed something to support my calf one I no longer needed the walking boot, and it had to be one that fastens one rather than slides on so it wouldn't disturb my bone, plus adjustable because my leg would swell during the day. This calf brace provided great support for that purpose and the price was right. The velcro held up well for the 3-4 weeks I used it, and while I see some people have said that the velcro failed after months of use, I think that would be true of any velcro fastened brace for that time frame. One thing is that your leg will sweat in this thing and because a velcro fastened brace cannot be seamless, it is a good idea to wear long socks (I cut the bottom off a sock) under it to prevent marks. 5Its worth it!Love this thing. I started to get shin splints for the first time ever and thought I was starting to get a stress fracture. Life and this support had other plans. I took a couple of weeks off of running and clung to wearing this any chance I could. I hopefully got a marathon next month and am continuing to play vball! Only downside is it does smell(after use) and I can for sure see the wear in it after the some 50 times that Ive worn it and washed it. July to Oct now. Sliding in Sand vball it would sometimes roll down my leg a little and collect sand. Its a great support. It gave me confidence to keep running and playing. 5It was adjustable and I liked that because I could tighten and loosen it at ...Torn my calf muscle and needed something quick to put compression on it. Ordered this and it arrived the next day. It worked well and relieve the pain enough for me to walk. It was adjustable and I liked that because I could tighten and loosen it at various points. The neoprene smell was overpowering when I first put it on but it quickly faded. Over several days it tended to stretch out so I had to pull it tighter to get the same level of comfort. It made my leg sweat more than the sleeves I subsequently purchased (see my review of the sleeves). This now has a home in my dojo bag for emergencies. 4
