Really strong, nice flavorTo preface, this is my first time trying yerba mate so I don't have any reference point. I like how it tastes; it's not bitter and has a bit of a smoke/cigarette taste. It makes me jittery if I have a strong cup, which doesn't happen with normal caffeine for me (coffee and tea make me tired if I have too much). That's a positive to me.. it's good to know I won't get tired if I have it. I wasn't sure what to expect size-wise out of a kilo but wow, I think I definitely got my money's worth. Good product.5Fresh! Great quality. Fun with a good tea straw.So fresh and delicious... Transports me to a state of relaxed energy with an alert mind. After the first day, I naturally reduced my coffee intake and feel better as a result. I drink this on the afternoons, use a regular mug and a tea straw and just keep filling with hot water when it gets low and each Brew is great. If you do not read Spanish, not the recommended Brew temperature is listed on the side in Celsius and it is not right off the boil like others would instruct. It tastes better if you do not scorch it. Note: The packaging offers no protection so I am keeping it in the large plastic overwrap it was shipped in until I find the container I want for it.5My favoriteFlavorful, mild and very good quality.It has earthy smoky flavors but there is also a fruity sweetness that comes out now and then. It helps me focus without getting jittery.5PerfectionI lived in Argentina for a couple years many years ago, and I fell in love with yerba mate at that time. I had gone too many years without mate, and I decided to drink it regularly again. I ordered my favorite brand from many years ago (Cruz de Malta). When I opened the package, the smell brought back so many memories. The flavor is perfect. I really enjoy drinking this again.5a lot of trash incideIt looks like floor dust from carpenter shop. A lot of dust and big wooden chips inside and taste is like tea made from wooden chips. It made me laughing ))). Some pieces of wood are so big and look like real logs. See attached pictures1First time with this brand and I like.This is the first time I've tried this brand. I really didn't know what to expect. I've been drinking Rosamonte for several years but figured I'd give this a try simply because it appears to be the biggest competitor to Rosamonte and I know that flavor can vary depending on how the yerba is processed. Like I said, I didn't know what to expect but I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. The dry yerba doesn't scream "I'm different!" but as soon as I steeped it in my french press I could tell it had a much different character with (what seems to me to be) a more complex aroma than the Rosamonte. I have never particularly had too much luck with steeping Rosamonte more than once. It can be done but it seems to lose a lot after the first steeping. This surprised me. I went through 3 full steeps on my french press and there was plenty of flavor on each. I could probably do one more, TBH but that's plenty for me. I think I will stick with this brand. The only small issue I had was when I received it, the bag had a small split in it through which a small amount of yerba had escaped into the shipping package. I'm not sure if that's an indication that the bag itself is more fragile than the Rosamonte or if perhaps it received more abuse in shipping than usual but I have seen several others complain the bags on this brand leak during shipping. But as long as it was mostly intact, I'm not too bothered by it. I will try a different vendor next time. This one was shipped in a plastic bubble wrapped envelope. I'll see if I can find someone who uses boxes.5Energy drink recipeTake a 34 oz. French press, put an inch to 1.5" of mate in it, fill the press with boiling water. Stir and let steep 15-20 min until most of the product settles to the bottom. Put the top on and press down and pour into a one gallon container. Pull press plunger and pour another 1/3 of the way full with hot water, stirring and agitating. Repress and pour off into the gallon container. Then, add local organic honey, approx one cup, and stir until dissolved, Ala "southern sweet tea" style. Then place two standard free service trays of ice cubes in and stir. I take an organic lemon and lime, washed, cut into quarters, and squeezed into the mix, throwing them in as well. Then take 1.5 quarts of organic orange juice and pour it in. Whatever space is left, stir in cold water until it nears the top and stir well.As a paramedic firefighter who works all hours of the day and night this is what I reach for when I feel fatigued.5Best Yerba!Tried other Yerbas and this is by far the least bitter! Highly recommend! I would suggest covering the tea leaves with cool water and let sit for 1 min before adding hot water.5THE PAPER AND GLUE FOR THE BAG IS TERRIBLE, I SENT IT BACK TWICE.this yerba is great, but the bag or the paper glue they are using its terrible, i have ordered two bags of this product and i had to returned twice because the bag was wide open inside the shipping box, manufactures has to fix this huge problem as soon as possible, i do not want to waste my time sending the product back all the time, i hope they fix it.5PerfectI am a staunch mate drinker from Argentina. I'm glad that I can finally order Cruz de Malta online at a fair price. Some reviews say that it has too many "sticks," well, this is yerba con palo. It is meant to be for medium-sized mate gourds, and not for tea brewing (for that you want "sin palo"). The reason why I like Cruz de Malta is because it's not has strong as Rosamonte or Tarag , and I like its mild flavor.5
